I had never thought about celebrating Presidents’ Day today as opposed to Washington’s Birthday until my wife, Stephanie, gave voice to Lincoln here. And yes, we have conversations about presidents in our home.
Bear with me this week, folks – I’ve got finals and a senior thesis project due on Friday!
The newly aggressive ads (filling the screen, popping up, and deciding they’ve been clicked on when I scroll past) seem calculated to send me to the paid version of GoComics. I’m thinking I might just quit coming here instead.
This agonizing waiting for a new episode of my favorite comic strip is torture! (Which, I suppose, the “agonizing” kinda implied…..) Any road, it’s not driving ME to drink! (Thomas Jefferson, on the other hand………)
Are you coming back? Love this strip … excellent drawing style and clever mix of history with current politics. I go to wiki & google time and again, and always learn from your strips. I hope you’ll continue!

Too bad that the current occupant REALLY BELIEVES that he was born to be Dictator of America…

“The man’s not a king …”
No, but he might’ve nearly become one if the Newburgh conspirators had found George sympathetic to the idea.

Washington wasn’t even born an American citizen, so how could he have been born president? (Yes, I’m leaving now!)

I would amend Lincoln ’s words to include Abe himself.
Unless you’re from Illinois, you probably aren’t very aware of Lincoln before he became president, either.
I’m not even that sure how much of Lincoln is taught anymore in his home state – I haven’t lived there in almost five decades!
