Don’t feel alone Wally and we live South of you. I’ve figured several time this Winter that I wouldn’t survive it. But, with the help of my friends in ‘Stone Soup’, it has made it just bearable ! Thank you ! !
After Friday night’s 20cm of snow, our driveway is snowed in — AGAIN! It fell as heavy, wet snow (just below freezing), and now it’s -13º, so it’s a solid, unmovable mass. Maybe we’ll be seeing Spring flowers in May, if we’re lucky… (And if I survive that long!)
Where I am, it’s sunny but cold. First, it was snowy and cold, then it was downcast and cold, then it was sunny and nice out, now this? What is up with you, weather?
I was in WI with grandkids’ family at Christmas and beyond. Got down to -18°, “feels like” -48°. Tomorrow it’ll be 17° when they catch the school bus, “feels like” 12°. Yay. Here in St. Pete, it’ll be 67°. On the whole, I’m glad I’m back in St. Pete.
Here in central Kansas we cannot really complain of weather. Though we had ice, sleet, and then snow few days out of school followed by bitter temps. Overall no high abundance of snow. Now temps rollercoaster. I feel for what Wally and Val went through to get to work.
My brother in law spent a few years living in Quito Equador and he once told me that Quito has all four seasons every day. Since Quito is on the equator but high in the mountains it was spring in the morning as everything warms up, summer during the day since it’s on the equator, fall in the evening because it’s so high in the mountains the air is too thin to hold the heat of the day, and winter at night because it’s above the mountain snow line.
I have a friend who lives in Oregon and she posted flower pictures already. Wisconsin just can’t shake the cold weather. The snow has pretty much melted, but a little more is predicted for tomorrow night and later in the week. Just an inch of so.
It’s been manic depressive, as this time of year tends to be here. It started to warm up a couple of times, then it retreated, but due to return soon. At least the snow finally melted, and should we get any more, it’s not apt to stick around for long. But right now it seems as if winter just doesn’t want to let go.

My 14 year old granddaughter made the comment last Sunday that she was “so sick of 4 seasons in one week.” Amen!!

Spring in TX tends to look like bottom center (sans the coat). Lots of storms, hail, and our favorite, the Tornado family comes to call!
