Happy kitty, sleepy kitty, purr, purr, purr.

These kittens have already gone to the farm where they can run free and play.

This is horrible. Are they dead or dead-drunk (empty beer can)? Either way, this isn’t funny.

Get the parents fixed

Ahh, the Norwegian Blue kittens…

This is why you spay/neuter and keep them indoors. I’ve had several cats and they have all been content to stay indoors as they were acclimated to that as kittens. I live next to a busy highway and I am sure that if they were outdoor cats none of them would have lived to see their late teens.

Someone has been reading Dan’s old Hustler cartoons and killing kittens.

It’s OK if tomorrow’s toon is “FREE PUPPIES”.

Am I missing something or is just blatantly disgusting. I usually love this strip but this one is disturbing.

This is a rerun. I remembered it from before. Dan explained it in his comments as so-

“This has been a test. If you grew outraged and railed about this imaginary box of kittens as if they were real and there was some sort of violence done to them or fabricated an involved scenario whereby I am some kind of sadistic monster then you have failed the test. This is in reality a drawing, a collection of inky scribbles on paper. There is no substance nor matter to it beyond the media and the substrate. There is no storyline other than the one you have concocted with your own imagination, twisting it into a fevered dream of your own making. I simply took a familiar concept and turned it upside down in your perception. That is what a cartoonist does. Excuse me while I go pet a real kitty.”

I can’t say that I like it then or now. I understand what Dan was trying to say, but the visceral reaction is too raw from me to hear it.
