“And I won’t get killed, right? Right?”
Good morning™, tempestuous arrangements !
This guy must be major valuable; Sam is awfully kind to and willing to do just about anything to keep Charlie happy. This is the most at ease that Dick has looked in some time.
What the heck is going on in panel two?! That fist is drawn WAY too big!
Good morning™, all!
Vitamin Flintheart seems to be one of the few in this strip who uses a smartphone, so I guess he’s not so old-fashioned as some might think. Also, a dress rehearsal sounds safer than a regular perfomance.
I think that’s an excellent drawing of Tracy’s face in the second panel, and his arm with the Wrist Radio is about the way that Gould drew it years ago.
Definitely no more Harvey awards, if they still existed!
Next panel: (Flintheart) “Better yet, I’ll perform it for you over the phone. ‘Here, master: what cheer? Good, speak to the mariners…’”
(Tracy) “Emergency. Gotta go.” *click
A Protective Program would not allow a person to be seated in front of a window…. let alone to move him out of the protective environment. Let Vitamine come to them….or visit him after the trial. Mr. Gould would consult police departments with regards to what they would actually do in specific situations. This isn’t a Fearless Fosdick cartoon.
Very , strange images today . Cool , but very strange .
Mr. Flintheart? When the crowd finds out they won’t get to be in on the confrontaion – and the bust – they’re going to demand refunds on their tickets…
Tracy: “Rocket Punch!”
Panel 2 looks like a cheating cut and paste.
After reading all the responses, I can relax it wasn’t my eyesight!
Vitamin looks a tad like one of the ‘baddie’ supermarionation marionettes from STINGRAY. It’s the eyes. I’m thinking ‘wicked banker’, here. ;)
Well, at least the viewing will not be open to the public (a false assumption that they tried to get us to make yesterday)
Looks like Tracy had his arm attached to his neck at the wrist. Kinda gives a whole new definition to “living hand to mouth”.
I think that arm comes out of his neck. Sure looks uncomfortable. And he borrowed Thor’s fist maybe?
Just make sure you handcuff him to the seat, so he doesn’t pull another disappearing act.
What is going on in panel two? Is Locher back?
What is that growth on his neck?
it’s not only too big, it’s coming from a weird angle that makes it appear that Tracy’s arm has been cut off and laid on his shoulder. . .I enjoy the strip but it is pretty slow sometimes. And can be murky. that last sequence with the old hippy commune and so on—rather muddled storytelling.
Dick’s had some interesting surgery. Maybe from Dr Locher?
Dress rehearsals are a great Poor Man’s bargain! Through friends in the drama department when in college and in community theatre later on, I had the opportunity to attend a number of dress rehearsals.
Exclusion of the General Public (a.k.a. the unwashed masses) from dress rehearsal may hinder Abner’s plans for assassinating Charlie 21 and Dick Tracy, however. Still, I foresee yet another Dark Cloud of Doom (for someone) hovering over the ill-fated Patterson Playhouse….
In P2 was there a mistake by the GC colourist or did Joe forget to do a separation of the arm insert showing it?
