THAT’S how I found out I have a thin spot! (We didn’t use the offensive term “bald” back then.) On her way to coffee, a girl patted the top of my head as she passed my chair. The girls hand was cold and there was no way I should have known that.
I had a cousin who, as a child of 11 or 12, could have been the inspiration for Petey, both in looks and attitude. He did grow out of the attitude, but still looks like Petey … poor boy!
Our youngest had extremely short hair when he was in grade school. Our neighbour’s daughter (only slightly older) would rub his head every chance she got. KIDS!
