Okay, that one was legitimately amusing…although I’d wager Ed’s passed more than one stone in his lifetime.

If Lena baked them, then they’re stones.

When made correctly scones are delicious. The British eat them with jam and clotted cream!

Some scones feel like stones, so Ed has a valid point.

My sons are always correcting me the same way on every word I miss or mean to miss.

It’s impossible to buy decent scones in the grocery store, especially here in the American southwest. Thanks for the recipe, ma.

Today’s Crankshaft reminds me of when I bought my son an ice cream cone when he was very young. The server asked if I wanted crushed peanuts, and I said yes because my son enjoyed peanuts in the shell. He didn’t like the cone, so I offered to buy him another. I asked what kind of ice cream he wanted. He said, “No stones.” Stones meaning the peanuts. He also didn’t like “hair” in his orange juice (pulp).

They must be kidney scones, because Ed is “passing” on them! d;o)

I really feel for the character of Lena. Her baking is (so it seems) a little to be desired and nobody will ever tell her to be kind – except Ed Crankshaft – in his tactless words, it will slip out of his mouth.

Scotland has the Stone of Scone, which recently figured in the coronation of King Charles, while Centerville has the Scones of Stone, which figure in Ed’s digestive distress. Seems fair.

Did someone steal the Scone of Stone from the dwarfs?

Either way you’ll break your teeth if you try to eat them!
