When it comes to digging random holes, he’s a champ!

This week Gary is trying to out do his other brother Theo (Ballard St Commissioner of Pothole Installation.

Yes, Gary always felt he was holier than Theo.

Finally made it back here!Kinda late….Personally, I wish they’d keep all THREE brothers away from the sidewalks…Ballard St is dangerous enough with those high curbs in some places.

I didn’t need to find the remains of a pothole contest on my way to the salon in the dark!Did you notice Gary’s holes are all kinda double?I guess if it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing twice.Bev! You’re here…. I was afraid you’d left already…. though I know you’re more than ready! …but tomorrow is a big day….

Look! I picked up the morning paper when I got off the bus…. the very early edition:

    And X — that was….just….…. that was…..punishable, I think.

We haven’t done much about Tuesday’s ceremony….Bev…. I HOPE you have time to make snickerdoodles…I’ll do banana bread…. We can’t possibly feed the whole town but we should have at least a symbolic tidbit or two….

    Hope the band is ready!

I do have the badge… it was delivered on Friday….

    Ooh look at this article

I have to get some sleep! I can’t stay up reading the newspaper!

Gary is really my father, Milton, reincarnated!! My dad really loved to “garden”, although he did not have a “green thumb” by any stretch of the imagination! He spent a lot of time outside, digging holes to transplant stuff…then, transplant it again…and, sometimes, it wound up in its original spot! The primary activity was digging holes…..for the exercise, come to find out! My father felt it was great exercise, and indeed it was for him. He was always active.

So, nothing really comical to say today….just a slightly amusing and sentimental anecdote remembering my beloved dad….

I was going to hire Gary to do some digging for me. But after talking to him and examining his body of work, I realized he wasn’t very deep. I couldn’t have a shallow person for the type of work I had in mind.

WOW!!! Most impressive plans for the ceremony. If I need something to do – last on the list would be digging holes – but that’s just me.

Those paired holes look like the footprints of an enormous deer.

Bev — can you come in tomorrow at 11am? I know we’ll be busy preparing but I was out just now…Never fear… I have a TON of glitter…I think that’s literal.

Yes, I think all refreshments should be mini size due to the crowds.

I’ve ordered a couple of cakes but they’re rather small…. no one expected the sort of crowd we now think the event will draw.

Should have realised that this is a historic day for the monkeys and the humans of Ballard County!

    Your next haircut’s on me.Well, I mean… it’s on YOU, since it won’t be on MY hair….but you know what I mean….I think….

rogersgeorge — not only rude but wrong. Gary IS ONE, that’s parallel, and the other verb belongs to “the GUYS who HAVE…”

“One of the guys who has” is pedantically over-corrected, the way some people say “whom” to sound educated when “who” is correct.
