No offense, but the writer of this strip is the same age as my parents. I’m trying not to be ageist, but I’m not convinced that a 65 year old man can write a realistic story about teenagers in 2012. I’m 30 and I’m not sure that I could. I see 16 year olds running around all the time, they don’t seem to be this awkward and insecure, especially not the guys like Quill.

Give them a break! Not all teens are captive to raging hormones. Some are cautiously exploring and HOPING for love – but not willing to act on it … yet..Luann was asking about MORE even when she was trying to move to “more”. Today, I’m thinking that they both are feeling “Great, we got off the dime and made a decision – now what?” And they don’t want to make a mistake.

“If they were raised properly, they wouldn’t be in the house alone, unsupervised and in a bedroom, which is even worse. When I was a kid I wasn’t allowed to be in my g/f’s bedroom AT ALL, EVER…let alone the home alone with her… I can chalk the “in the home alone” as health rebellion, but in the bed room is just a break down of morals…”

I’ve been alone in a bedroom with my boyfriend on many occasions over the course of our 3+ year relationship, and I’ve yet to drop my panties because of it. Being raised right means you keep control of the situation, regardless of where that situation is located.

There’s not a thing wrong with being a virgin, and staying a virgin until one’s wedding night, Wesley_B — and that’s actually my point. What I was trying to do was refute the ridiculous assumption that Quill is gay just because he’s not suddenly shoving Luann down on the bed and shoving his tongue down her throat, now that the opportunity has presented itself. As you noted, Quill and Luann were undoubtedly raised with that standard, so now they’re both naturally acting like two deer that have been caught in the headlights now that the opportunity to violate that standard has presented itself.

" in the bed room is just a break down of morals…".Nah.In the bedroom is a contemplation of violation of morals because morals aren’t being considered when first entering, perhaps never..For that matter sometimes a bedroom is used for things other than sleeping or sex. That intention is implied here but simply existing is not immoral..In fact, I well remember being in a girl’s bedroom when in the eleventh grade. I was trying to help her with her accounting homework. Naturally I closed the door to block the sound of the television in the next room but her mother for some reason didn’t take it that way. She kept breaking in on us, don’t know why she didn’t just turn off the TV and leave the door open.

“of course no disrespect intended towards those of that faith … i was simply referring to their very strict moral compass.”.I don’t know. It still sounded disrespectful and I’m not even Mormon. .People all around the world have taught their children to limit their actions with respect to others and out of respect of themselves..Some respect their parents’ teaching, some don’t. To pick one particular group out is just WRONG.(not that i care, but it is)
