Gentle Persons,

I must make a plea on behalf of the poster known as Number 6.I understand that a comment he made the other day was misconstrued, and a ruckus was the result. I respectfully ask that he be reinstated to the Comics Boards. I have been informed that an apology was forthcoming from him, and I believe that he resolved the matter in good faith.

“There was a poster on the “Doonesbury” strip named “DylanThomas” who wrote lo-o-o-ng messages.Then, for whatever reason, he just disappeared!I wish GoComics would notify us regular posters that someone is on probation or has been banned from posting.”

Excellent idea SUSAN! They could create a ‘Wall of Shame/Fame’ so that we at least know when someone’s been barred!

That is what I paid when I first decided to take the plunge.

Since this recent rash of bans began I have found I have become paranoid of comments that I make, something I have never done before. I have seen some outrageous remarks before. I am concerned that this trend is going to force us into bland posts.

Hey, I just got a great idea.

I’m gonna open a tavern and call it, ‘The Wagon’.

And I too, wish to make my case for Number 6 to be reinstated. Go look at just about any of the poltical cartoons, and see some of the nasty screeds folks there regularly get away with. Heck, I’ve made more than my share of snarky comments in response to pol-toons ( why lie? ), and I’m still here.

What’s next for Andy, A job?

…I have sent gocomics my request for the reinstatement of #6 (although I have also mentioned that I don’t care what they do with raspberryice – I am not at all enamoured of raspberryice’s comments…)

NUMBER 6 should be reinstated. If the NANNYBOTS want to ban nasty posters, they should look at the Editorial cartoons as someone else mentioned. I have NEVER seen Number 6 stoop that low!

I don’t know who Number Six is (or was) but I’m not inclined to like censorship or banning. So I suppose I’m in favor of him, her, or it being re-instated….But as far as “Andy just being Andy” is concerned, for most of the strip’s existence there WERE no comments to follow, and it was a great (though one-dimensional) strip, anyway.

I have, over the years begun to pass on reading the comments on strips that are political in nature. No one is going to influence another’s belief with a post harassing another’s opinion. I read the cartoon and move along to the next one in my comic queue.

Whatever happened to Wundeling, or was it Wonderng , or something close io it , that used to write in lomg poemns on The Brenda Starr Strip that has been gone for a 1/2 year or more .

Pitched it Gweedo! Now we just have to wait and see – I’ll keep you posted!

I would hate myself if I didn’t tell you all first. That’s just ignorant and I’m not like that. So….. Yeah. He’s back next week. Spread the word to the other strips such as Andy Capp & The Buckets.Be seeing you!” A short time ago, I received this response from GoComics Admin: Hello Lady Shades,

I’m up to date on the entire affair. I talked to Number Six yesterday when it happened and he understands and said he respects my decision.

It is a temporary suspension.

I have written GoComics on # 6. I understand he will be reinstated next week, according to # 3

I agree with Susan N and LadyShades that we need to know when fellow posters have been banned in any way. I enjoyed comments from Mabrndt (who I believe only posted on Priceless). I read about 30 comics on this site and more than a dozen on others. I only came to Andy Capp because I heard that the #6 issue was being discussed here. As #6 is himself a budding cartoonist, I’m glad that he will be reinstated.
