But, what exactly is he, and what’s he standing on? I’d like to know, even if it does mean life is duller.

Okay, okay. Aaron’s been listening to us all the time. He has given us – literally – a cliff-hanger!

So… some kind of anti-gravity field supporting the ship? that would explain how it can float. Ha ha – galleon on the outside, and junk on the inside!

I think I got a new feeling about this entire story. Before it was “oh no they are doomed” but now my mind says simply “oh no they are stuck on a floating ship that nobody can get out from, not even jumping, oh well here we go for a Star Trek Lost in Space episode”.

ohhhh man…this sooooo looks familiar! if only i can remember where i’ve seen it…. i think it was in either a comic book or an animated feature…throw me a bone, aaron!!!!

Hmmm… the new guy seems to be wearing something bio-suit-ish, but not an official topsider biosuit. Still thinking Sparkplug, but having some minor doubts now because of the biosuit possibility…

Oh, and VOTE! Endtown is at position 56 with only 8 votes so far!

The captain could be a ditto projection, and maybe be the mind of the dittos in a form that can talk to their guests. Or s/he could be a super, whose transcendental meditation at the time of mutation resulted in a transcendental being. Or it could be a brain in a flying robot body like Petey. Or it’s a mutated Penn Jillette.

I vote for him standing on a platform the dittos are concealing.

Wally, let’s review: You are a cat who used to be a man. Your girlfriend is a “3 foot tall, bipedal talking mouse”. You are hanging out with a koala who only yesterday tried to harvest your brain, and a tin can containing the brain of a guy who can’t remember his life before he was a truck. And you think some guy leaping from a flying ship into thin air doesn’t make sense? Sounds par for the course to me….. ;-)

I just started reading this strip about fifteen minutes ago, and it’s kind of intriguing. I started here, went backwards for five or six weeks… and…Um…Can anybody tell me what the heck is going on? I mean, according to today’s comments it seems that everyone else is almost as confused as I am, but… Can anybody give me a synopsis or something? I’m liking this strip, but not enough to go back to 2009…

I’ve got it! He’s Arthur Dent, returned from Hitchhiking around the Galaxy. He did learn how to throw himself at the ground and miss, after all.

I’ll try sometime when I have the time. (I still need to do that with Ralf the Destroyer, too…)

That was unexpected!

I enjoyed reading all the synopsii on this day. I only got as far back as was suggested to me, where the dittos were introducedTHis was such an unexpected event. I had thought something else was also out there to see. From where Wally was looking. the helmet looks funny. maybe this guy has round ears?.

I concur with the “start from the beginning” crowd – the real beginning, back in 2009. I just did that very thing (again!), and found it to be (again!) well worth my time. And GoComics makes it a really easy thing to do.
