    @thebird55,With all the absurd comments from others, especially atheists, yesterday, you pick on me! :o)You misunderstood me to some extent. God is infinite and omni-present. I was saying that there is nothing beyond the edge of the creation (universe). In other words, there is no space, matter and time beyond the edge. There was no space, matter and time before creation. There was just God.No one can legitimately, logically and rationally ask what came before God, but they ask anyway. In my other comments, I referred to that issue and others.Please read or reread my other remarks from yesterday if any further clarification is necessary.

    Philippians 2:9-11 declares that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, but they still won’t repent and believe for salvation. Dogsniff and others are determined not to believe and be responsible to the God of the universe, and unless their attitude changes, their allegiance won’t, either. Nothing will convince them, even absolute proof.

    If he were so lucky, Calvin, he may do as Warren Buffett plans to do, which is give the bulk of fortune to charity.

    I have no quarrel with those who choose to believe in God, but religion, by definition, is FAITH. FAITH requires that you believe in something that CANNOT be proven. If it can be proven, it is not faith, but FACT.

    “As the Christian responded to the Philosopher Emperor, Marcus Aurelius: We BELIEVE because it is absurd.”

    +++++

    But—as Catholics—having believed, and having accepted that further premise of God along with related ideas, we find that the who makes rational sense.

    And, further, we see how other belief systems, including science itself, do depend on acceptance of a premise. In science, premises such as the world being relatively simple and consistent, able to be modeled by mathematics, and to be rationally investigated.

    In re the income taxes on the inheritance, perhaps Calvin’s father will put everything in trust for him. In re what is beyond this dimension of time and space, it should be remembered that in his Revelation, John saw material objects, etc., and, even more to the point, remarks that there was a period (in some translations designated as a half hour) in which there was silence, so we have a time reference here as well.

    @JohnnyDiego,I’m not sure to what you are referring, but I gave book, chapter and verses and how I see them (the interpretation and application). I don’t wish to get into endless, vain discussion with people who have no real interest in discerning and understanding truth. If you are merely baiting me, I will have no further response.Bibles are readily available for purchase on Amazon.

    Why talk about “kids today”? I always wished that I could be “that kid” sadly, I wasn’t. Everything I achieved was got the hard way, including the disability I now have. Having that disability, has almost guaranteed that my kids will have it as hard or harder than I did. These banks are sure trying to take it all back, even when all we are trying is to get refinanced at a lower rate(Their constant checking on the FICA scores have affected them so that now we are not eligible for a new loan, even of the same amount(with a lower rate). It is a power grab, it isn’t just those that reached too far, it is about their old good customers, that now have business problems(partially because of the banks) and now have “bad” credit, completely because of the banking industry’s manipulation of the credit scores.

    May they all roast in Hell.

    As has been said numerous times, this comic is not just funny. In fact, it is not always funny. Various subjects are brought up including philosophy, religion, politics, sports, behavior, etc., etc., etc.. People may read and participate as they choose. “To Each His Own”I wish no harm to anybody now or in eternity. In fact, it is my desire that no one perishes, but that all should come to repentance and salvation. I want the best of everything for everybody forever …everlastingly, even. (Snagglepuss) :o)

    “In other words, there is no space, matter and time beyond the edge.”

    True, in a sense. Space is infinite, so there is no ‘edge.’ By virtue of the edge’s non-existence, it’s an elementary assumption that there is nothing beyond it.

    One thing the religious and non-religious alike seem to universally overlook is that science in no way disproves or proves the existence of God. These ‘Laws’ exist, so if God DOES exist, he is undoubtedly bound by them as well. Who’s to say that God didn’t create the universe by using these scientific laws, and even laws that we do not yet fathom?

    The Bible says that God created the Earth in a day, but it also says that ages pass in the blink of an eye for God. How many times does God blink his eye in ‘a day?’

    As Einstein put it: time is relative. ;)

    I don’t believe space is infinite. It’s a part of creation which I don’t think is infinite.There were no scientific laws before the creation. They are part of the creation. God uses the ‘Laws’ he created. God is sovereign. He is not bound by anything unless he chooses to be (as with free will for humankind). God knows ‘the end from the beginning’ and foreordains everything he has determined to come to pass without abrogating free will.God is Spirit, and Christians worship him in spirit and in truth. John 4:24 God has no physical eye except in the humanity of Jesus Christ. We attribute physical attributes to God to make him more understandable to us humans in the way he operates and the way he conducts himself.Some of us disagree on certain issues without vitriol or sarcasm. I think you are such a one.
