Hmm… so Tracy already knows Tess…

He’s had his eye on her, it seems.

G’morning, everyone!I’m really enjoying this version of Tracy’s ‘origin.’Unlike Chester Gould’s version, Mike and Joe have time to develop the characters realisticly, including showing Tracy working up through the ranks.If I remember correctly, Gould had Tracy joining the force to catch the killer of Tess’ father, and – shazam! – becoming a detective almost overnight, which Gould had to do to hook the readers. One question – was the big guy in the past few strips Big Boy Capice?

Tracy in the shower?! And he is looking young and skinny. I’m guessing Jerry is a married man.

Tracy was skinny.

Yes, it was Big Boy..It’s great to see Dick looking skinnier than we’re used to seeing him — just like he did back in 1931.

Heads up, Tracy fans! I’ve been reading DT since the fifties (including comic books). I’d like to recommend the Tarzan strip to all you folks. It’s another great adventure story!

I could wonder how shooting it out with two bank robbers could lead to a detective’s position, but why kvetch? I suppose we’ll hear more about Dick’s background later.

Perhaps someone could clear up this matter. Did we ever get to see the son of Gravel Gertie and Bob Oscar Plenty? And if not, why not?

Actually Arkham has been around since the 70’s. It was originally Arkham Hospital. Then the name was changed to Arkham Asylum.The Elizabeth Arkham Asylum for the Criminally Insane

This is totally enjoyable.

I expect DC swiped the name Arkham from Lovecraft precisely because of the associations with the name.

And if you like Lovecraft and can stand a comic that is much more violent (and gross) than Dick Tracy, maybe you should search for Lovecraft Is Missing. People who DON’T like gross should avoid it. It is very well drawn, though.
