This is a pretty swell wrap-up for this story, but I think that Flight Suit has an excellent point – in the real world there is no way that Mina could be a nurse. Her back-story, of coming from Smallville and working for a small town doctor of dubious skill is plausible, but, now that she has been exposed, what care facility in their right minds would want her on their staff? I am currently placing my Aunt in a home for folks who need help because of dementia, stroke, etc. and , believe me, they are extra careful about who is on their staff.

Mr. Decopolus must really like his hat if he’s wearing it in bed. I just hope his insurance covers Morning Glorias crashing through windows ;)

Mina is employable in a care center. She certainly is physically strong and can follow directions. She can wheel clients into the garden (as she did Mr Decopolous), help in laundry kitchen or garden. It’s a matter of her employer limiting the tasks to those she’s capable of performing. She would not be issuing medications, agreed. This is what the Americans With Disabilities Act is all about. I applaud the team for not relegating her to some human trash heap.

Thumbs up on the story, the artwork, and the wrap-up. I can’t wait for the 80th anniversary story to begin tomorrow.

I agree with all the comments about Mina. She could work in the laundry room and perform other tasks under supervision but not patient care. She has no internal controls, doesn’t know her own strength or have any sense of loyalty. A uniform does not a nurse make. She didn’t help in the capture, she just did the bidding of the highest bidder.

I still don’t know who the 4 sutomers were.

Didn’t Mina take part in killing two of the “customers” about a month ago? Wouldn’t that be assisted murder? Is that just ignored because she didn’t know better and she is rewarded by service organizations bidding for her services? Everything else is great. Some of the storylines are wrapped up nicely. But this one surprises me.

I’ve been watching this strip from afar and I must say that the change in artists is magnificent. It should have been done years ago. I think the Tribune put Locher on it just to keep him happy as their political artist, (which I don’t think he’s very opinionated). The new team recaptures the Chet Gould magic. If newspapers were still running Sunday funnies like they used to, Dick Tracy should be one that they pick up again. It is beautiful. It’s right up there again with Blondie, B.C. and the other well-drawn pieces.
