Brad never got to realize his dream of working drive-thru when he worked at Weenie-World before. Sounds like he’s going to get a second chance. That reminds me of a Youtube video somebody made using an audio of the comedian Dane Cook complaining about his job working the Burger King drive thru and pictures from the Luann comics. Perhaps Anne’s bi instead of being a lesbian? Or I could be reading too much into their interactions. I mean, I’m sure Ann was super nice and sugary sweet to Zane when she first hired him, until she hired Bernice and found out that Zane was dating the woman she loved. Only time will tell.

Looks to me like Mr. Evans has turned Brad and Toni into a story arc with a life of its own that is overshadowing LuAnn. So now he is getting ready to just kill off the whole Brad/Toni thread.He could have had them just get married, adopt Shannon and find jobs in Vancouver. Toni as manager of safety, Brad as a fire academy instructor. Instead, he has to remind everyone of how shi**y life is becoming for blue collar stiffs whose only goal in life is to put in an honest day’s work for an honest day’s wage.

Also, I see that UComics isn’t any better than the previous forum about allowing commentators to add a little clarity by inserting a paragraph break every now and then. What, they think a [CR-LF] costs something?

Whew! This is getting awfully steamy for a “family strip”! Ann is pretty blatant in her teasing, though Brad may not have admitted to himself what he is hearing. Toni, your hero needs rescuing!

Notice Ann is colored in black on her lips – a quite sure sign of a villain…Brad, wake up! Stop thinking like a teenage boy around Ann…don’t regress to teenager yourself just because you are at WW. You gotta watch out for Ann!

I would still like to know what state brad is in. California or Texas?

Nice to see that Brad has ambitions.

One hundred years ago, the term for a woman like Ann, was Vamp, as in Vampire! ie: A woman who seduced men, only to destroy them!!!!

I still disagree with those that say Ann is more interested in girls. Too many words that can be reinterpreted. Plus – where would this arc be going if she was interested in girls?

Wow – what a thrill it would be to have a person without a foreign accent taking my drive thru order. I never understand the people now. Even when they read it back to me.

“Yeah, Brad, I started out mopping the floor just like you. Then, I moved up to washing lettuce. Now, I’m working the fat fryer. Pretty soon I’ll make assistant manager…and that’s when the big bucks start rolling in.”

Re: the correlation between a character’s villainy and her lipstick: Crystal has been depicted as wearing black lipstick, in keeping w/ her goth sense of style. She’s more of a tweener in this strip: she hangs out w/ the evil Tiffany, but she’s also willing to exchange banter w/ Knute.

Brad is consumed with finding a job that he isn’t picking up Ann’s vibes; I expect that once he’s re-settled @WW, he will likely pick up on it. What should be interesting is Bernice’s reaction during the inevitable visit to WW.

I doubt that Greg would use Ann to completely torpedo the Brad/Toni relationship, considering how much time and effort he has already invested in it. Besides, as someone noticed, Ann is a SNAKE!

Color selections are wayyyy overanalyzed in this strip. As long as skin and hair is done to spec, most of the rest is arbitrary. Not all, though. I’d expect to see a heated discussion about a purple frog instead of a green one, but not so much over wall colors of the same hues.

Oh wow! That’s right! I thought she looked familiar! Especially the way Greg hid her until the last panel yesterday! You have a great memory! LOL!

yes! Hooray!One thing that puzzles me is that people often refer to Luann as ugly. When I look at the row of heads at the top of the screen, with all those freckles, I can see that she could have been considered plain – when she was younger. But when I started reading this strip, she was already a teenager, and I think she’s quite pretty.

I really think that Brad should have his own comic strip. Luann and Brad are two different types of characters and they are really for two different audiences.

We have been operating under Chicago School economics since the late 70’s, that is, Milton Freidman’s monetarist theory that we can control inflation by strictly limiting the size of the money supply, and it has worked. But it also means that the economy is a zero sum game, for every dollar a CEO earns, someone else must earn less. For every multimillion dollar athlete or media star, the rest of us lose a few cents, and for Rush Limbaugh to earn $365 million (yes, that’s what he makes) every other man, woman and child in the US has to give up $1.20. We are controlling the money supply by shaving the wages and income of the lowest paid workers so that they are unable to participate in investment activities that would otherwise grow the money supply. This allows us to continue to permit the wealthiest to accumulate and spend wealth in forms that do not contribute to economic growth…the sale of a Van Gogh for $45million dollars simply moves that money from one Swiss bank to another. It does not create a job, revenue, or value for the economy.

Wait… is that sexual harassment? Can he sue Weenie World and retire on the settlement? Well, if not, I’m sure Toni will have a few words to say to the new temptress. ;-)

Lots of innuendo today. Especially for a strip about a teenage girl. I must say I’m almost shocked, but Greg has done this a few times before. Just todays strip seems more blatant. Double-entendre perhaps, but just barely. I kind of like the adult spin this is taking. @ProfessorChaos Man, if you dont like the strip, go read something else. It seem you have some derogatory remark about Brad or a criticism about the strip every day. Move on troll.

Poor Brad – Here is a very attractive woman coming on to him and he is blind to it. His brain says to him, “You have Toni.” All other women are of no interest to him as a girlfriend. I doubt he could even be turned on by another female. It’s just not in him.

I like that there are several characters in this strip who can play a prominent part. It makes for more possibilities in story arcs. Also I think some realism, such as Brad’s being laid off, is good, but Greg usually gives it a light touch, not too grim. I wasn’t reading the strip when Ann Eifull was in it and not sure where this is going. I would have preferred something more constructive than working at Wienie World.

Hope this is just temp work for Brad while he looks for other work.

If TJ comes to visit Brad at work, and get’s a load of his manager, he might decide that he spends far to much time in the kitchen.

Woah Nelly! Hang on Brad you’re in for a ride, and a good kick in the head from Toni if you mess around. This was a turn I never expected from Greg. Luann is growing up and he’s upping the ante with the story lines. Just say no Brad. Or, well maybe. or ……

OH FOR GODS SAKE BRAD, WEENIE WORLD!!? AIM HIGHER MAN!!

Not quite. First the manager watches you at the counter, assesses your people skills, how you work the register, memorize orders,organize the order, etc, before putting you at drive thru as you would work alone. It is a promotion from taking orders at counter under watch of the manager. The lowliest position where everyone starts is the dresser – the person who preps the buns with condiments before the main meat upon finishing cooking are placed on them. The second lowliest position is the fryer – the person who puts frozen fries in the hot oil and loads them in the containers. Next is the cook – preps the meats on the grill. Then it is the counter then the drive thru and then team leader. I worked in fast food industry when I was younger.

She only recently returned Monday and you’ve already reached this conclusion?

She really enjoys sticking her chest, er I mean, neck out for Brad, doesn’t she?

I think that most of the people who have commented here are reading much more into this . . . at least much more into this then Brad of I am.

When it comes to women, Brad is dense. The state Brad is is is somewhere between Shock and Confusion.

It’s fun to assign hotness to a comic strip female: Janis. Miss Buxley, she of the always-downcast eyes. Toni. Luann, and even Sara from Zits. On the other hand, the lovingly drawn women in Judge Parker? Not so much, not the same. I’m fine with the separate story arcs for Luann and Brad. Each engages me, Brad-Toni a little more than Luann. And the chances of a spin-off strip in these times, I’d think, are slim and none.

@Dogsniff – Eating out of her hand? Come on Dogsniff – it won’t be her hand, and you know it.
