I’ve rescued 4 dogs that I still have. My wife and I also managed to have two people rescue a total of three dogs. The one with two said if she had more room, she’d have three.

    Rescue a dog IF:

You feel emotional warmth holding dogs.

You have time to care properly for it.

You have patience to train it.

You have an appropriate amount of space for it.

You can afford to feed it.

    Your lifestyle permits it.

Adopted dogs going through three owners in rapid succession, or being abandoned or abused, don’t help anyone. It is not evil to not want a pet, it is not evil to lack the patience. Don’t let anyone push or shame you into adopting a pet.

Not just a dog. Rescue any animal for which you are capable to take care of and which does not just suit your needs. An animal is no ornament fitting your wardrobe. Nothing to show off – but hopefully to show happiness and make a good example of how to be kind.

Sure, take it up a mountain to starve with you. Adopt responsibly.
