Citizen Kane, ranked among the best US films ever, received one Academy Award, for best screenplay.
I know the cartoon is ridiculing inclusion, but to my knowledge there is no quota for minorities per film. Ramirez is the most hot-cold cartoonist among the GoComcs group. He is either right around the center of the board or far off it.
Come to think of it, the only black person was the cook at the big BBQ scene. If only he had slipped in a maid, restroom attendant or train porter, he’d be over the top. Heck, there were many ways he could have done it. He could have had a janitor scrubbing the floor of his office building, or, or…I know there must have been some other parts for blacks, surely.
By all accounts, the Best Actress Award was really close. If it really was biased towards the person of color, Lily Gladstone would have won it. But it wasn’t.
It wasn’t that long ago when we were talking about how biased the Oscars were against non-Whites.
Watching commercials on ALL the internet streaming services I’ve come to the conclusion that 50 percent of all marriages are black/white mixed and virtually all of the other purchasers of products are of the Negr* persuasion. Is this my imagination?
I believe “The Birth of a Nation” had the right quota. To be honest they were White people in blackface playing characters that were unintelligent and sexually aggressive toward White women, but hey, they were represented.
Why does anyone watch the Oscar show? They make noises about DEI is ignored in everything, expecting me to go on a guilt trip. THEY VOTE FOR THE CANDIDATES AND WINNERS, so why should I give a whit if they can’t run their own house like they expect others to do? Sort of like Gore, Kerry, and their buds.
Morgan Freeman one of Hollywood’s best “A” list actors turned down a role offered to him in John Carpenter’s “The Thing” saying “Wait, you have an Antarctic research facility staffed by top notch scientists, and the only Black character is a cook? No thank you.” Morgan has always been proactive in this regard. He also is of the opinion that the is no real issue of racism in America and most of “those” issues would go away if people would just stop talking about it.
Regarding “quotas “ in Hollywood for woke, POC, female roles etc. it certainly is a real thing. Look at the mess Disney is in over the issue. Warner Brothers lost major $ over their “woke” movies and a couple of years ago cleaned house of their woke production staff and writers.
I realize the cartoon was probably submitted before Sunday, but Ramirez’s tiresome “woke whine” looks especially STUPID in view of who won the vast majority of the major awards…

Makes sense to me. Disney wants to make POTC with female cast. Women aren’t going to pay to see that.
