The Teamsters Union has given campaign contributions to both Biden and Trump. We still haven’t found out where Jimmy Hoffa is buried but we’re pretty sure where Biden will be buried. The elections in November 2024.
Strange that a Michigan cartoonist is so anti-labor. I guess the assumption by Payne and his employers is that working people are stupid and can be easily misled.
Got nothing better, more topical, more recent to address?
I mean, it’s ALMOST as if you drew a cartoon about this, because you can’t find a way to put a positive spin on:
the new attacks against women via embryos,
or the latest dismal failure of the republican fbi informant,
or trump’s continued, cascading failures in court,
or the murder of Navalny, or trump saying he’s in the same situation as Navalny, because the judges won’t let trump get away with his crimes, and trump being too cowardly to even mention putin’s name, much less condemn him for the crime,
or the republican house STILL not getting ANYTHING done without the permission of trump, the fat fascist they fear and serve,
even though he holds no office.
But sure, let’s keep talking about the UAW, who went back to work LAST YEAR.
Biden announces more than 500 new sanctions on Russia
US President Joe Biden announced on Friday more than 500 new sanctions on Russia in response to the death of Russian opposition politician Alexei Navalny and a day before the second anniversary of the start of the war in Ukraine. “Today, I am announcing more than 500 new sanctions against Russia for its ongoing war of conquest on Ukraine and for the death of [Alexei] Navalny, who was a courageous anti-corruption activist and Putin’s fiercest opposition leader,” Biden said. "These sanctions will target individuals connected to Navalny’s imprisonment as well as Russia’s financial sector, defense…
EVs are getting better. The range is getting better, the price is coming down especially when you consider the sensors installed. Yes, being easier to manufacture there will be less jobs. Just a note – moving factories to non-union states costs UAW jobs.
I went to the New York World’s Fair in 1964. I went to the IBM exhibit.
They were showing their computer to the world; a brand-new thing.
It required a room the size of my elementry school cafeteria. It needed its own air-conditioning system so that it would not overheat. And it could perform simple calculations.
Soon after, one could buy a desk calculator. It could add, subtract, multiply, divide, and possibly do square roots. It took up at least a quarter of a typical work desktop.
Fast forward to today. I’m willing to bet you have a computer more powerful than those IBM engineers could dream of, and it fits in your pocket. Oh, and it takes pictures, provides internet access, and you can call people up on it. And no Long-Distance charges!
Anyone who thinks that EVs should either be perfect or never attempted is ignoring reality. All new technology takes time to develop. Early adopters paid thousands for the first flat-screen TVs, and thanks to them, TVs now are almost cheap and have more features than most of us will ever want or need.
Same with hybrid and EV purchasers. They are the ones who help make the tech better, and in this case, may actually help us save the planet.
If the concept of the computer was put on hold until 1999, because people thought it was unnecessary or would cost too much to develop, where would we be now?
That’s a fair caricature of UAW president Shawn Fain. Not like the pretend/ non union posing as union/ background prop autoworkers rented for $20k to stage support for Crooked Donny on his trip to Detroit Michigan last September.
One might think that petroleum-fueled vehicle lovers would like the emergence of EVs. Oil reserves are limited – EVs free up more oil for petroleum vehicles. Also, the easy-to-find and easy-to-retrieve oil is already gone. The remaining oil is harder to find and retrieve, making it more expensive. EVs lower the demand for that oil, helping hold down prices.
I have classic muscle cars that I love. But I am not scared of EVs – in fact, I’m impressed at most of their performance. Both will coexist for decades to come.
And shelve the BS that Biden is forcing you to give up your petroleum vehicle and only be allowed to drive an EV. There are no EPA police banging down your door and confiscating your vehicles. Despite one’s imagination, that is not what is happening. If you think your State is headed down that path, you have options including moving or using your vote.

Yeah, keep building and buying gas-guzzling SUVs and monster trucks. Keep us lurching ever faster toward climatic Armageddon.

Would you buy a used car from Henry Payne?

Again Payne demonstrates his global stupidity. This idiot doesn’t even grasp the distinction between the meanings of “less” and “few(er).”

Shows you what unions have become. To Hell with the worker. Hooray for the Democrats.
This is your union dues at work – putting you out of work.

Probably Payne loves the idea of tax breaks for rich people.

Less jobs? Why? It takes the same number of people assembling whatever comes down the assembly line. When you need to lie it applies to all you say.

Weird. Biden’s so far the only candidate to have directly addressed the UAW. His main opposition, meanwhile, staged a completely fake union rally.
