Some people don’t know what to say in a conversation, Adam doesn’t have that problem.

Trevor fell asleep after hearing Adam’s “poetic” metaphors.

When you’re talking to someone, it may be helpful to pay attention to them to see whether they are paying attention (listening) to you.

At least Adam stayed on topic. I know people who can’t complete a sentence without wondering into at least three tangents.

I admit I can respond to a “nice weather” comment by another the way Adam did in the strip. From previous encounters with some people, I know when to just say “Yes, it is” or if I can “wax poetic”. I worked with someone who only wanted a YES or NO answer to any question.

I’ve figured it out. I don’t say anything to anyone, until I notice someone staring at me like they expect me to say something. Then I just say “What” and take it from there.
