I read For Better or For Worse first this morning where the family’s older dog Farley dies after saving the life of the youngest daughter. A comment there mentioned that maybe this strip was meant as a nod to Farley’ death.
You may be right although it could be a coincidence. Either way, they both dealt with the death of dog specifically. Of course, the death of any beloved pet is painful and sad.
I have a Doctor Who mug for my daily morning tea. I always boil the water on the stove I (never microwave). Why? I know this sounds strange, but I think the tea tastes better with boiled water.
You speak of Hawaii (and the other islands in the chain). I was there years ago and discovered just how popular it is there. We went into an ABC store and there was an entire aisle loaded with SPAM on both sides with more “flavors” than I could remember now. We bought some “original” SPAM here in the USA and found we like it when fried and in some dishes.
I admit I can respond to a “nice weather” comment by another the way Adam did in the strip. From previous encounters with some people, I know when to just say “Yes, it is” or if I can “wax poetic”. I worked with someone who only wanted a YES or NO answer to any question.
