Ah! a goof-off day! I remember a little ditty from junior high we would say, kinda sing-songy: “A whoopee doot doot, we gotta a substitute !!!!!”

In high school we had an older man that would sub for us sometimes. He was really into UFOs. We could have a test planned for that day and someone would ask if he heard about the latest UFO sighting. He would then spend the rest of the class talking about UFOs and we would not take the test or anything else that was supposed to be done.

Also, it concerns me that I refer to him as an older man. I just realized that was almost 40 years ago. I wonder if he was younger than I am now?

The class clown is the guy who goes streaking through the lunchroom. The class comedian is the person who got him to do it.
