I was thinking that John should take a trip alone, or with a male friend.

He needs a vacation from Elly just as much as from the kids. Maybe more.

Who is going to take care of your kids while you’re away?

You would think that Canadians at the end of February would rather want a change of “scenery” for a holiday rather than just changing or slowing down their pace (speed),

I get the joke, but John’s not wrong, the prices will only go up.

“workd and deadline and responsibilities”. This sounds more like something a cartoonist would say than a dentist.

I would love a vacation. The last actual go-somewhere vacation I took was in September of 2004. Wasn’t much of a getaway; we went to visit my mother-in-law & I was pregnant with our 2nd daughter.

My parents-in-law are going on their third cruise this year, leaving on Sunday for two weeks.

@Asharah- I doubt it. That’s not a city, state or federal job where she can accumulate sick time and vacation time. If she doesn’t work, she doesn’t get paid.

Rush, rush, rush. Seems like John is in a hurry to get ‘out of town’ ! ! ! What’s happening, John, that you want to get away from ???

Their budget only gets them as far as sunny Buffalo,New York

Actually, John has it backwards. The cruise lines drop their fares at the last minute in an effort to fill the ship. You can get some pretty cheap fares if you are willing to take the chance that they won’t have room for you at all.

Hehe…. the true “Dreamers”…

Neighbours returned from a cruise last week. She is still on antibiotics, and he is suffering from pink eye. The ship was a floating petrie dish.

We’re going to Wood Buffalo National Park this summer. Can’t wait.
