Sounds rather chewy, not too smooth.

It’s the full glass of white wine that really brings it together.

I thought monk fruit was only legal in monasteries.

My recipe for a smoothie is one stalk or 1 1/2 stalks of kale, half a ripe banana, at least a half cup of blueberries, one cup of raw oatmeal, nearly a cup of water, half cup of a commercially made ‘green juice’ and spinach leaves (optional). The oats give it some protein and soak up the liquids making it fairly thick.

The whey, monk fruit and chia seeds don’t sound too bad. Beets…meh. But the minute you add even a molecule of kale, that’s it. Good for nothing but the garbage disposal. It will stink to high heaven and taste 20 times worse than it stinks.

I know someone who swears by some kind of green V-8 concoction. The only green sludge I want to eat is either split pea soup or guacamole.

“V8 Fruit & Vegetable Blends Healthy Greens is made from the juices of yellow carrots, spinach, apples and pineapple.” Sounds gross to me…

Whey, a milk product would never be in my smoothy. Check out the Blue Zone books to see why plant-based eaters live on average a decade longer than people following the SAD (Standard American Diet). My morning green smoothy starts with lots of kale or other cruciferous veggies, 2 tbs. flax seeds, 3 or 4 dates for sweetness, and a package of frozen berries. Check out Dr. Goldner on Youtube to see how green smoothies totally changed her life.
