They’re usually not that picky. I accidently threw my wife-to-be’s Frisbee out into the lake just as a guy came by walking his Lab. After confirming his dog liked the water would fetch Frisbees from it, I asked if we borrow it to get ours. I threw a rock out near it and the dog excitedly splashed out and brought back the Frisbee (not the rock).
