It doesn’t matter what we do to the planet as long as the rich get richer.

In the GQP version of the Bible, instead of Jesus saying “Ye are the salt of the earth…” it simply says “Assault the earth”.

But seriously . . . it’s a bit late to want to stop the ice age from ending.

Recycling plastic was first promoted by the plastic industry in the 80s in order to stop legislation that would limit its use-people would not feel guilty about throwing away a one use plastic water bottle IF they thought it would be recycled when in truth it is shipped to Asia then dumped in the Pacific.

Too close to the truth to be funny and too close to the truth to not be thought provoking. Another great Job by Mr McFadden.

Bet the “carbon foot print” of anyone of those attending far exceeds the national norm.

There will be a need for oil and petrochemicals for long into the future. Just like there will be a need for coal for metallurgical and chemical needs. The problem is not those resources, per se, the problem is the massive use for fuel and transportation needs. Secondarily, there the issue of one-shot polymer consumption which requires enormous amounts of light hydrocarbons and natural gas.

Genesis 1: 28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

I often wonder if god’s scribe had written “care for it (earth), treat all fish of the sea, fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth as fellow Inhabitants ” would we have so much violence and hatred filling the world.

We will always need oil. Why? From it we get nylon, polyester, acrylic, and spandex, various plastics, nail polish, perfumes, some make-up, and hair colorings. Many of the medical equipment used today, are made from oil. Not only are heart valves and artificial limbs made from petroleum but also many of the cleaning and safety products medical personnel use. Its used for much much more than just as fuel for cars, planes and trains.

COP28 leadership has made itself into a bad joke. Our two-party system has similarly miserably failed the US* — but the only ones laughing are internal/external enemies of our indivisible nation who are trying to make democracy vanish.

    *: e.g. unelected/unchecked/unresponsive deeply partisan SCOTUS
