What makes me sad is that in just a few generations. the land they’re killing each other to control will probably be uninhabitable because of the changing climate. I suspect their reaction will be that they’ll just continue killing each other in whatever new location they move to.
Jewish people no doubt have seen House democrats’ side with Hammas, marches / protest’s on the street siding with Hammas, etc. Meanwhile they remember who had peace in the middle east and had countries sign the Abraham Accord and moved the embassy to Jerusalem. Remember this next election.
With Netanyahu and his ilk in charge… peace will never happen. Hamas inspired some brutal actions.. Bombing Gaza is also brutal.. with far more innocent civilians are being killed.
As I recall from my history lessons Hitler had a policy of killing a great number of civilians if/when one of his people were injured/attacked. Netanyahu is using that same logic.. ironic.
The first sentence of the Abraham Accords Declaration includes the words: “… based on mutual understanding and coexistence, as well as respect for human dignity and freedom, including religious freedom.” I would say there was definitely no respect for human dignity from the videos and audio Hamas posted “I killed 10 Jews with my bare hands!” he shouted, according to an audio recording, adding, “Mom, your son is a hero!”, the naked women brutalized, I’ll stop now …….Yes, the Abraham Accords Declaration did wonders for “…maintaining and strengthening peace in the Middle East.”
In ‘98 Clinton, Arafat and Netanyahu had all but put a ribbon on a peace plan. One Israeli boy was kidnapped and killed by SOMEONE. Then three Arab kids were similarly killed. It’s been downhill ever since. So potentially, that SOMEONE was one person who has seen to it that thousands will die and there will never be peace. That’s what we get when human nature’s default is always revenge. Two cases come to mind that didn’t work this way. The South African reconciliation after Apartheid and the follow up to the Rwandan genocide. Not perfect, but more promising than the 75 years of mutual never-ending retaliation we see between the Jordan and the Mediterranean. These African cultures were not imbued with the go-to revenge response.
I don’t know if ANYTHING can put a stop to this, but it might help if Hamas could be convinced that Jewish plans to rebuild the Temple have nothing to do with the ‘dome of the rock’ and Al-Aqsa mosque. That is not where the original Temple was located.

Won’t work without either one. . . . Won’t work with either one. . . . as long as either one remains the same.

Unlike killing, bringing peace is almost impossible.

Israel and Palestine need to treat each other with respect and work together against Hamas.

Without manufacture’s wrappings they’re the same. Peace only works without the blame. This is fantastic Clay. Bravo. You have outdone yourself.

Excellent, sir. It’s that simple, and as a result, it’s so hard.

Bad things happen and good things don’t when ideologies clash instead of compromise.

Where is the Energizer Bunny? We need it now. (not making light of war) What’s going on today is hell on Earth and it may get even worse. I hope not.

It might be more appropriate if the batteries wouldn’t even fit, say like a 9 volt and button cell batteries

Is there a desire for peace or a desire for peace based only on the complete removal of the other party?
