That stupid rule that a majority verdict won’t stand because of one fanatic or paid off juror must have seen so many trials as a big waste of everyone’s time and money.

The asymmetrical look to the folds on his face could indicate that he’s had a stroke. Trump should probably dictate another letter to his doctor attesting to his ‘EXTRAORDINARY’ health.

I actually heard one of his fans defend his monetizing the mugshot (selling it on t-shirts, koozies, etc.) by saying “how else can he pay his lawyer bills?” He truly is the greatest grifter this country has ever seen.

I think all the trials should be moved to Guantanamo. The republicans have been loath to shut the place down and it seems that place is ideally set up to deal with folk wanting to overthrow the government. Heck they even have special procedures established by republican lawmakers to deal with “hesitant” witnesses.

‘Slouchy and hateful’: Piers Morgan, Henry Winkler and other celebrities react to historic Trump mugshot

“Wonder if he’s tired of winning yet,” wrote Star Wars actor Hamill, alongside the mugshot and the hashtag “#MAGAMugshot”.

Earlier that day, Hamill had also shared a quip punning on his Star Wars catchphrase: “May The Fourth Arrest Be With Him.”

Author and poet Seth Abramson gestured to the fact that Trump’s campaign website had already started offering donors a T-shirt with the image of his mugshot on.

“Photoshopped image that removes Fulton County Sheriff’s Department logo so you can sell $35 tees to the poors [Tick emoji]. Accusing others of the crime you’re charged with [Tick]. Insisting you’ll never surrender under a photo of your surrender [Tick]. Looking orange, slouchy, violent and hateful [Tick],” he wrote.

There will be twelve of them. All of them voted for Biden or didn’t vote at all. Fair trial by a jury of your peers? Who needs it? Why not turn Trump over to the lynch mob and get it over with. Democracy, who needs in the ultra-lib haters in the new fascist American where free speech they don’t agree with is banned and you’re canceled and jailed if you get out of line.

@ Al Fresco: Now that you have vented, let’s return to reality.

A trial by jury is guaranteed by the US Constitution. It was a big thing ever since the Magna Carta. Are you saying this should not be allowed? It sure seems that way. The idea of turning over an accused-but-not-convicted person over to a lynch mob has KKK overtones and undertones. The idea of a lynch mob for the Dotard is a fantasy. The Dotard directed his goons to invade the Capitol, and they responded by threatening death to several, and built a gallows that had Mr. Pence’s name on it. Those were NOT imaginary. Death threats continue to follow the same path: prosecutors, grand jury participants, judges, all egged on by twits on Falsify Social and X and more. Don’t tell me these are “ultra-libs”.

Free speech is under fire for sure. Can’t have this book in this library; can’t say these pronouns. A teacher in Georgia was fired for reading a book that promoted being friendly with a person who is purple because one parent was red and another was blue. She asked her students whether they wanted to hear it; they voted overwhelmingly for it. A complaint was made, and the school board’s reviewing committee recommended against discipline of the teacher. Remember, this is Georgia, not a liberal bastion by any means.

However, the “ultra-lib haters in the new fascist American where free speech they don’t agree with is banned and you’re canceled and jailed if you get out of line” voted to fire her. They voted along party lines: Republicans had the majority.

And as a PS: when doctors tried to make a case for reducing the effects of gun violence as a matter of public health, those same “ultra-lib” Republicans told them to “stay in their lane”.

Yours is a classic case of projection. Please stop. Thanks in advance.

Unhappy Trump scrambled to get out of having his Georgia mugshot taken: Guardian reporter

Despite all of his bravado and using his Georgia mugshot to rope in more supporters to send him donations, Donald Trump tried in vain to get his lawyers to block having the humiliating picture taken and disseminated to the public.

That is according to the Guardian’s Hugo Lowell who appeared on MSNBC early Saturday morning on “The Katie Phang Show” to report on the timeline before the former president was forced to surrender on racketeering charges at an Atlanta jail on Thursday. After the host and Lowell joked about Trump’s self-reported weight of 215 pounds, Phang asked how the president approached his being taken into custody.

“You’re telling me that Trump actually didn’t want this mugshot? Because I see him fundraising off of this — so talk to me about that,” host Phang asked.

“And I think there’s been a shift in mindset from him before Manhattan, before the hush-money case he was very gung ho,” he continued. “He thought it would be cool if I can get arrested, put in handcuffs, get a mugshot taken looking defiant but that has changed through the [multiple] indictments and by the time he got to Georgia he really did not want an indictment, really did not want to get a mugshot.”

“He wanted none of his personal details to be public,” he elaborated, “Then he was pushing his lawyers to negotiate that with the DA’s office and the sheriff’s office. And when the sheriff’s made it very clear he was not gonna get any special treatment that was when they recalibrated and said, ‘Fine, if we have to do this we’ll fund-raise off it.’”

‘A multitude of ways’ exist to stop Trump from becoming president again: legal expert

According to former prosecutor Shan Wu, there are multiple avenues to either make Donald Trump ineligible to run for president again or keep him off the ballot at the state level. In his column for the Daily Beast, Wu made his case that the former president is already ineligible to run under the “Disqualification Clause” found in the U.S. Constitution, adding that the standard required to be banned fits Trump “like a glove.”

I wonder if an estimate has been produced yet for manpower and technology expense necessary to monitor every juror who sits on a tRump or tRump crony trial for the next two years (or maybe more).

There had better be maximum effort placed on this enterprise, because the Teflon Don is certain to use as much donor money for juror tampering as he can spare from his legal defense fees.

By now any criminal attorney who agrees to represent tRump who goes into this unaware that: a) the likelihood that they will receive more than a fraction of their total billable expenses is 100%; and b) that money to bribe juror’s comes first, waaay ahead of payment for their services; …

… is an attorney who is even dumber than all the previously stiffed tRump attorneys put together and multiplied by about a billion.

What a putz. Love the how dare they, don’t they know who I am? scowl. He should bee lucky they didn’t force him to get on a scale, but wonder if he realizes the form he signed may have caused him a perjury charge for lying about his height and weight. BTW, high heeled shoes hidden in boots would explain a lot of why he walks the way he does, especially walking on ramps. Seems DeSatan uses the same footwear company.

If imprisoned for his crimes, as he should be, I wonder how long it will take for his white supremacist supporters in prison to tire of catering to a whining, wimpy fat rear? Especially, once his kids stop sending him money to buy that loyalty with.
