I’m not getting most of them today…

Still one of my favorite strips of all time. All this technology, and for what? So we can learn about the most trivial garbage. Jan Eliot was ahead of her time with this one. If only we could have guessed back then just how bad it would really become.

Now we wonder why there is no real privacy any more.

All that amazing technology to discuss “what are you going to wear”…

Now multiply that, a billion times a second. What seems trivial now becomes amazing.

And that’s just fine. Tech was MADE to serve us. Say what you like, hon…

She’s gonna dress nice, and MAYBE get a boyfriend this year.

Okay…sorry but to me that would be a WARNING FOR A PERVERT TRYING TO TRICK HER!

We have all this technology. We have the Internet, which was intended to be used for the exchange of information and for educating people. Centuries of knowledge has been collected, archived and made easily accessible.

So what do people do? Waste time on idiotic sites like TikTok. Social media is a scourge which is contributing to the degeneration of our civilization.

Infrastructure is everything!

Had to check the copyright date; what kid today uses a desktop PC?

This is almost as amusing as the people who use the Internet to complain about things they think are “unnatural.”

Remember when email was new and all we did was send jokes to each other?

A silver one-piece jump suit? In some of the movies about the spacey future they also wore capes. (Maybe they had extra pockets in them.)

In years past you could do the same joke with telephones.

Video killed the radio star.

Note that every improvement in communications has further enabled what would seem to be mindless, or at least non-profound exchanges. And that, sez this electrical engineer, is as it should be. Holly rules.

That’s at least a bit better than using it for hate and misinformation.
