Yes, Bill Barr weaponized the Justice Department to protect the Orange Traitor and some of his goons, as best he could. Thanks for noticing.
As for the present, President Biden is letting the Justice Department do what it’s supposed to do, and staying out of their way. As, it should be.
Too many Repubs have been protected by a weaponized by them, Justice Department for far too long. It’s time justice finds them, just as it should on anyone else that commits a crime. Politicians need to be held at higher standards, not lower ones.
This is the play that trump and the right intend to use. It is unimaginably sad that one party would sacrifice the rule of law, so as not to annoy the misbegotten sycophants that follow trump. While those same Republican officeholders, in secret, can’t wait for trump to be known only in the past tense.
Truly, our country would be better if we insisted on teaching critical thinking throughout the formative years in school.
Sally Yates, immediately fired (not a loyalist). List of loyal sycophants: Dana Boente, Matt Whittaker, Jeff Sessions, Bill Barr. A weaponized and presidential protectionist Justice Department if there ever was one
Is Trump guilty of a crime? If only there was a way to figure this out. Maybe one side could present the evidence of his guilt and allow Mr. Trump to have a legal expert to dispute the evidence of a crime. We could do this in front of an impartial person who is an expert in the law and maybe a panel of ordinary Americans who could decide if the DOJ’s case has established Mr. Trump’s guilt.
This is truly ironic since trump weaponized the DOJ (https://americanindependent.com/trump-gop-allies-weaponized-doj-2018/) and now he claims that in his second term he will end the civil service system and put in only those loyal to him. The political patronage of the federal government lead to several corruption scandals and this is what he proposes as “draining the swamp”? “In the Gilded Age, corruption and graft permeated every level of American politics. Campaigns promised patronage and civil service positions in order to win elections and access to infrastructure benefitted corporations over small-scale farmers.” That must be what MAGA points to . . .
Ok, so how about we make a FOURTH branch of government? Not one with any lawmaking powers, just powers to investigate, charge and prosecute the other three branches. Each state and territory could elect ONE federal rep to this body and then they select the United States Attorney General, independent of the president or any other branch.
The MAGA-GOP response to Trump remains amazing. Trump doesn’t take the material, nothing to see. He returns it when directed to. Nothing to see. He kept it solely because he thought he was above the law and Gorrell likes this? Interesting.
HORSESHIT. I guess you need to make a living somehow. But when our American democracy is threatened by an idiot masquerading as a patriot and you aid him, you are doing a great disservice to your own country.
It’s called Justice and he’ll have his day in Court. If this was a former Democrat President I would expect no different treatment than what trump is receiving now
I notice a certain idiot above has brought up Trump’s inane “1850 boxes” line. I’d like to point out: Biden gave 1850 boxes of his personal papers from his time as a senator to the University of Delaware Archives. That’s personal papers, not classified material, and I’m pretty sure that if the UDel archivists found something inappropriate in there, they would contact the authorities. But some people are stupid enough to just hear the words “Biden” and “boxes” and immediately assume something sinister is going on. https://library.udel.edu/special/home/collections/joseph-r-biden-jr-senatorial-papers/

What part of the Orange Baboon incriminating himself in 2021 did you miss, Bob?
All he had to to do was return the material when asked, not deny or lie about it.

Yeah, right, Gorrell. Even you must realize that the orangeutan is as pure as the driven slush. Why on earth did/do you support him?

Who made it this way by packing the courts with unqualified RWNJ judges?

No, not really. Or are you that “in the know” of the specifics before the info comes out on Tuesday?

Gorrell, Bill Barr absolutely agrees with you.
So does Jeffery Clark and all of Trump’s acting Attorneys General.

If Donald was arrested for shooting an unarmed man on a city street, Bob would say the arrest was politics.

That sounds fair.

So, Mr. Gorrell, should all politicians be exempt from prosecution for lawbreaking, or only certain ones… or just The One?

Why does Gorrell continue to aid & abet the Obstructionist- and Insurrectionist-in-Chief?
[ Why does he continue to soil our Constitution? ]
