    Not really. I have played hours of Monopoly and I still don’t know the rules. Same goes for Risk.

    Eh, depends on the game. Some are more fun when you’re “loose” with the rules, but others I’ve found are more fun (and often times more fair) played by the intended rules.

    We made up rules for all games as we went along. Seems the manufacturer’s tech writers were not very creative.
