For quite a while, I didn’t have to do my tax returns. Then the IRS asked for me to do a form one year. Turned out they owed me around £400. The following year they said I didn’t need to do a form that year. Needless to say I did one anyway. Only £50 that year, but still worth the time to fill in the form. Since then, it’s been on track.
Refund. Haven’t seen one of those in years. I’m happy if l don’t have to pay quarterly payments. Must be nice. Last refund l got took me and the wife out to dinner at the local Mexican Restaurant a couple of years back. He’s right though to use it for paying off bills…..
Actually, Brutus thinks, but won’t tell Arnie, “Between Gladys, Wilberforce, and gifts to Ramona, and the high cost of living, frivolous takes on a new meaning”…
No one has mentioned GoComics being down for several hours. Am I the only one who couldn’t get here earlier? I read comics early, left for several hours, came back to finish up and I couldn’t get in. It was frustrating.
Using this year’s refund to pay for last year’s frivolous purchases (the ones you made using last year’s refund, Brutus) suggests to me that you crossed the line into the super-frivolous.
And despite comments to the contrary, if you file your tax return and get money back, yes, you are getting a refund. That’s what it’s called when you have overpaid money you owe, and the excess is returned to you.

In my case it would be the frivolous purchase of fixing a hole where the rain gets in. ;-(

Refunds are just overpayments and lost interest.

With my retirement income, I hope I won’t have any taxes to pay.

Why do I have to pay income tax on money I receive from the government?

What refund? They’re just giving you your own money back without interest.

Once bitten twice shy. I wonder if Gladys knew about those frivolous purchases. Or maybe Gladys was the one doing the purchasing?

Wait if he spent his refund on something frivolous why does he still have to pay for it?
Buckeye67 about 1 year ago
Well then Brutus it looks like next years refund can be earmarked for more frivolous purchases.
