Not to mention the theft from his own dog charity that ripped off a veteran.

I have not heard any charges or questions around Santos’ taxes, where the IRS would naturally be involved. I would expect that the investigations that lead to charges of wire fraud and money laundering would have been done between the DOJ (federal attorneys) and the FBI. At most the surprise charge of defrauding the public (collecting unemployment of $24000 while employed) might have relied on some tax related information, but I would expect that the NY state agency that deals with unemployment would have engaged on that.
But of course the IRS is the ultimate enemy, so let’s project our mental cosplay on them…
