Wanda stepped into a big “meadow muffin” with that comment.

Wasn’t her use of the past tense one of the reasons the police did not believe Susan Smith’s account? (I’m not sure if that’s the right case, though. {Murder case, that is, not grammatical case.})

How did Zoe end up with a nose so small when her parents …

All the times Wanda verbally trapped her husband (“does this get up make me look fat?”) and now it’s time for the shoe to be on the other foot!!! ;D

My wife told our girls “Marry funny, because looks fade.” I went, “Pardon me?” She came back with, “Oh, no, not you, dear.”

Hmm Darryl WAS funny, charming and handsome, but NOW he IS super cool and very awesome.

He was all those things and still is!

Was was right. She didn’t marry him for what he is now. She married him for what he was then.

She couldn’t marry him then for what he is now because she didn’t know then what he would be like now.

Whether she still thinks he is and whether she should honestly say whether she still thinks he is is another thing.

Yeah Wanda messed up here by not saying “was and still is”.

Just because he was doesn’t mean he still isn’t.

To be fair, the little girl asked the question in the past tense, and Wanda answered in the past tense.

I had that happen to me once. I’d been out of the Marines for 10 years or so and showed someone a picture of me at that time. She said…you used to be good looking. :-(
