If you could choose one person to run for President from your party who would you pick? Serious question, even though you DON’T get to pick (heaven forfend, say the party bosses).

I have to say that Biden’s optics are not his best thing, but he sure did get stuff done. All that experience, ya’know.

Biden and tRump remind me of Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne in Dumb and Dumber, but on most things Lloyd and Harry are smarter. Like most that I have heard from it is choosing who will do the least damage and not the best person for the job. So far it looks like a tribe of chimps’ vying for the balls in the bottom of the vase and all have their hands stuck

People don’t want Biden to run, but that doesn’t mean he’s unpopular.

Other people want Trump to run, even though they hate him.

He’s not slow. The only thing I might agree with about him is that he’s rather old for a second term. Being president ages one more rapidly. President Obama looked over ten years older after eight years. Other presidents were similar.

President Biden is thoughtful, intelligent, and a decent human being. America likes that in a president.

Here is my thought: Trump and DeSantis are existential threats to our country, so they are out. Biden runs, he announces that Harris will be stepping down as Vice President at the end of this term for another position in his next administration, and his new running mate is Joe Manchin. Manchin is younger, more to the right of Biden, and addresses the concern of something happening to Biden.

I’d like to see Pete Buttigieg run against Mike Pence.

Just so they can have a debate at the English Ivy Tavern.

Yes, President Biden’s age concerns me, but he has done a great job; far better than I expected even though I voted for him in 2020. He certainly has my vote for 2024.

But then, I would vote for a stone statue over any prominent Republican today.

Considering that so much governmental strife revolves around money, I’d go with Katy Porter and Elizabeth Warren, with Ms Warren as Pres. They have always impressed me with their knowledge.

I was a moderate Republican for (mumble mumble) years, until the party left me and I became a moderate independent. So, I don’t have a party to be able to answer the question Rhonda Santis proposed. I’m not a Mercutio, saying a plague on both the houses (although Democrats seem to be much smarter, much more honest, and yet completely disorganized compared to Republicans), but there are days when I wish all elections were non-partisan, like for example many city council elections. (Of course, to be truthful, they aren’t really non-partisan……) The Libertarians tend to be childish, and so, in far too many cases, tend the Greens. I wonder if there are any bull moose running around in these treacherous modern times………

It’s not so much that Biden will get my vote, but more that Drump never will…or any of his lackeys for that matter.

     The GOPPPPPPPPP

The drafting committee for the 2020 platform of the Republican Party initially decided that they didn’t want to (a) meet in person or for very long to do the actual work or (b) be perceived as lazy. So, using the pandemic as an excuse, they came up with the “brilliant” idea of just recycling their 2016 platform, changing nothing but the dates while claiming as a virtue that they stood for timeless ideas.

After a couple of weeks of ridicule, during which many commentators pointed out that the 2020 platform frequently lambasted “the current administration”, they decided to simply not have a platform at all. So what they are today is a Party without a Platform, Plan, Purpose, Principles, or Priorities, based solely on Personalities, Perfidy, and Power.

And, if you don’t like it, P on U.
