Remember when Dems and liberals were the champions of free speech and expression? Including speech one was uncomfortable with.
It wasn’t that long ago. Good luck trying to hear a conservative speaker on a liberal campus. Just one tactic of liberal fascism that so infects our country these days.
There are 4 reasons people believe in a god/savior/religion. The most common one is this belief is a coping mechanism for people to deal with situations they can’t accept. Like booze, drugs, and other coping mechanisms, religion works unless it becomes extreme and harms others. Unfortunately, this has happened and the result is afflicted individuals forcing their will on others – strongly felt today in the areas of education and women’s rights. The Constitution is supposed to prevent this, but many of these afflicted people are now in positions of power in our government, and we are turning from a democracy to a theocracy. The only way back is for the non-afflicted to regain power.
you can’t really have hope if you are only able to accept the ideas of just white old men. In order to have hope, you have to look at fresh and different ideas coming from a diverse group of people. Keep following your old white men, and you are going to be left in the dust
Christianity needs people following the teachings of Christ instead of whatever it is that is causing the vitriol and hatred they are spewing at the moment
Certainly not gonna get it from the cradle of Christianity.. or the evangelist among us.. not from the Roman Catholics that are he** bent on controlling a woman’s health.. not from the Southern Baptists who think everyone should own 6 assault riffles. Hope.. at the moment is but a dream.
The sheer irony of your pablum, Mr. Varvel, reeks of saccharine. Do yourself a favor and look at your handiwork and see how much hope YOU put into the world you love to criticize and WHO you hold so high on a pedestal to serve as examples of HOPE to this world.
Your god must truly be embarrassed of the mockery you make – you’re a 1-day Christian and a 364-day pundit who’s ilk can best be represented by the Pharisees in Matthew 23:27-28, where Jesus is addressing a group of them and says: “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of dead men’s bones and everything unclean. In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.”

Yeah. But what it REALLY needs is people who help each other regardless of gender, religion, color, national origin or political party.

To give the world hope, the USA needs to vote the fascist Repubs out of office, and keep them out.

Yes, the world needs hope, but not through a storybook translated by the racist, bigoted, misogynistic members of the christian religion.

Did I read the same comic (and pay for) as most of these commentators?
Denying the main character, Jesus, now bodes sad for your outlook in this world and your place in the next. We will all see him in the end.
He is Risen.

Ok Easter……
How did Christ sacrificing himself grant humanity immortality?
If God wanted mankind to be immortal why was a sacrifice required? Couldn’t he just do it? Who made these rules that God was required to fulfill?
