Sometimes you need familiarity when your world is going all chaotic.

Cats are world famous for the quality of the empathy and compassion. That quality being a complete and utter absence thereof. :)

This pile of sadness is nice and comfy

He’s just trying to comfort you in his own way, Sarah. Cuddling up to you, and giving you affection.

My kitten always curls up in my chest and neck when one of us needs affection – her.

My previous cat would cuddle up and purr if I was upset. The current one just gets upset with me. He seems concerned that the food source is unstable.

Not all cats lack empathy and compassion. I had one cat who would lay on my back and purr and gently knead without claws when I was feeling down or in pain from my back injury.

Cat is being a warm, weighted blanket that purrs in a way that soothes the human nervous system. Granted it is not as good a nice glass of brandy but they do not serve cats at liquor stores.

Apparently when they’re having breakdowns, humans are the comfiest cushions.
