I think his problem is that he married Gladys.

Selective amnesia.

Brutus tries to forget that he has a mother-in-law like Gladys’ mother.

I have to admit that I have a terrible memory. I remember all of the terrible things that have happened to me.

Work it Brutus. Why are you mad at me? That’s funny, I don’t remember saying that.

Now, what were we talking about?

A terrible memory can be quite benificial.

The terrible is memory is a companion asset to selective hearing.

I wonder if what Brutus said is an example of what is called a ‘self-fulfilling prophecy’?

Or is what Gladys said a ‘spouse-fulfilling prophecy’?

I have a terrible memory as well. What really annoys me is when I know I’ve forgotten something, but I can’t remember what. So, it’s not really forgotten, just inaccessible – yes I know the distinction is a fine one.

Nothing like a loved one to point out our personality peccadilloes.

I also have bad memory, I forget what I don’t remember.

my problem is that i don’t like people telling me what my problem is…

I have a “semi-photographic” memory. It sounds great but I can only remember different kinds of tractor/trailer rigs. :)
