I do believe I prefer the orange maroon as the GOP candidate. I think he’s easier to beat. Of course, that’s a somewhat risky maneuver. Best of all would be for her to run as a Republican and him to run in the “trumped up party” of whatever name.
If Nikki Haley thinks that the Republican Party is not racist, and would embrace her for who she really is, why doesn’t she use her actual birth name, Nimrata Randhawa?
When Barack Obama was growing up, his grandparents of European/Irish descent (O’bama?) tried to get him to go by the nickname Barry. While Barry is a fine name, Obama decided that he wanted to be known publicly for who he really was: the son of an African father (actual African, born and raised in Kenya) and a mother of European/Irish descent.
When he entered public life, he chose to be known for who he really is.
The Democratic Party, and the American people, accepted him for that person, and made him the editor of the prestigious Harvard Law Review (the first African American to hold that position), a best-selling author (before he entered politics) an Illinois state senator, a U.S. Senator and two-term president — the first Democrat to be elected to two terms by outright majorities (not mere pluralities) since FDR did it four times.
Apparently, Nimrata does not have the same confidence that her party would feel the same way
’He’s shrinking’: Trump struggling to compete in a GOP with ‘too many Trumps’
Former President Donald Trump continues to receive mockery from within the GOP consultant class for his botched campaign rollout, reported The New Yorker on Wednesday — and there is little indication his efforts to reboot and pivot have helped him. This comes as Trump is coming off small campaign events in New Hampshire and South Carolina, that are stark contrasts with his trademark stadium-filling rallies.
It doesn’t matter who the GOP selects as their candidate. They are all one brand of MAGA or another: racist, misogynistic, homophobic, Islamophobic, xenophobic and many other phobics as well.
This person will stand for nothing but delight in playing vandal and inciting other people’s fear and ignorance for personal political gain.
A superb politician, in that she can stay on point and answer the question that she wants to answer. Attended an event in 2019 where she spoke, took Q&A and they handed out her latest book. When answering questions she was using the same text as the book, was very disciplined. Not saying its good or bad, just impressive. I’d want to hear from South Carolina citizens how she was as a governor. Not my candidate.
The Repubs would hate her too, as she would be seen as an immigrant taking American jobs. As well as being Indian, or as they would call her, “a towel head”
Nimrata Nikki Randhawa, married Michael Haley in 1996 and uses her middle name. Progressives are really stretching it to insult her for using a name that actually appears on her birth certificate. If that is all they have for attacks ….
She was a big T rump apologist and now she’s not? Really? Wait until he asks to see her birth certificate, plus he knows she has way too many letters in her REAL name.
And the fact that she got rid of the Stars and Bars in front of the Capitol is going to disqualify her in the minds of many Republican voters, even if her name does not.

Looks like Buttercup will have competition from a member of the species he most often treats with contempt – among the others he treats the same.

Unfortunately for Ms. Haley, the notion of a woman (especially one of color) at the head of Murka absolutely horrifies the Tuckheads of the GOP base.

Haley served The Feckless Fraud, then scolded him for his traitorous actions, then crawled back, and now opposes him. So you can definitely trust her.

I really miss President Obama. He brought prestige and respect to the Oval Office.

As a resident of SC who has watched various “occupants” of the State Capitol – I only have one comment on “NiKKi”. She is an idiot.
