Yours and a whole lot of other people. Mine included. A warm fire to snuggle with my basset in front of, and when our stomachs rumble, right next to the kitchen so I can whip up a quick snack for us to eat in front of the fire. Cozy.
We don’t have a fireplace but sitting in my lazy boy chair with a lap blanket on, a cup of coffee by my side, my book and my kitty on my lap, that’s just the way I like it.
I can relate. Not to the great outdoors (we like to get out, but not so much to the wide-open spaces) or to the roaring fireplace (we don’t have one). But after a day out, whether for work or play, it can be a pleasure to come home.
Two of the dachshunds hubby and I had were adopted as adults from a shelter. They had been given up after a divorce, and the shelter told us they had lived their entire lives outside on a porch. They adapted quite readily to living in the warm indoors with the pellet stove, and especially our bed with the electric blanket!

We have a fireplace and it’s great to have during those cold raw days. Unfortunately my dog is afraid of the fire.

We have two gas fireplaces. My wife and the dogs love them and when it’s close to freezing outside, they really help the heatpump.

A terrific winter-season reminder of the home comforts – no wonder I miss them so much because I live in an apartment minus this facility!!
