Bicentennial? “The United States Bicentennial was a series of celebrations and observances during the mid-1970s that paid tribute to historical events leading up to the creation of the United States of America as an independent republic. Hey, I just realized that the 250th anniversary of the U.S.‘s founding is coming up in 2026. Does it have a fancy name? It should have, it’s a quarter of a millennium. I know “sesquicentennial” means 150. So surely 250 has a name.

“Why do you always rag on Snoopy?” Gee, I dunno. Who wouldn’t like a character who wants to bite someone to infect them with rabies just cuz they wanna sign a cast?

I was told with my first cast I’d get to keep it after folks had signed it. I was lied to, the doctor who removed it threw it out immediately without asking if I wanted to keep it. Still a little miffed about that.

Bought my first new Harley Davidson that year, a 1976 Sportster I customized and believe it is still running from what I have heard. Watched the Tall Ships sail down the East River in Astoria, Queens, some sight to see.
