I’ve kind of already forgot, what gender does Toby relate to and which gender is they attracted to….is they looking at the one on the left or the right? It’s so confusing nowadays.

“He’s not on his A-game tonight” is ungrammatical. You would say either, “He’s not on his game” or “He doesn’t have his A-game”. (And you’re basing this on his going 1-for-4 from the free throw line in mid-game? Geez.)

Kudos for yesterday’s late MUT edition MOP. While Mommy Mimi is befriending a member of the lollipop guild, she’s a thousand miles away to Keri. Literally.

Ah, Milford travels to Michigan again to take on the Salem Rocks. They’re a “hard” team to beat. Well that was lame. And speaking of lame, even Mopped Up Thorp is sometimes lame. But today is not that day.

OK, I’m just going to say it – I’m lost. I’ve been reading this and other soap strips for a long time, and I can follow ongoing storylines. But I have simply no idea what’s going on or what plotlines I’m supposed to care about. I don’t even have any idea who most of these characters are. One day some kid is drunk at a party. Closure to the story? Nah. Another day a long-time assistant coach up and resigns. Motivation, reason, explanation? Nope! Another day Coach Thorp’s marriage is in trouble, out of the absolute blue. Do we get any sort of understanding of the challenges of being a HS teacher/coach and managing a relationship and family? Nah. We just get “we’re good?” “Yeah, we’re good.” On to the next disjointed, non sequitur of a strip the following day. And the creator tells us “be patient, all stories will come together.” But there’s no end in sight.

Good soap strips have clear characterization with easy to follow stories that progress naturally from day to day and week to week. This is not that. This has been an absolute disaster since the changeover.

Nice to see them playing a non-teal colored team. But will they still have black shirts on Monday?

Speaking of focus, please, for the love of God Henry, try focusing on the story line. Apparently, continuity is not part of your vocabulary.

Has it been established whether or not Toby has had some remodeling done? Best I can tell Toby is a freshman and most kids starting their first year of 4-year high school are 14. According to the World Professional Association for Transgender Health, “the minimum age for gender transition treatment can now be lowered to 14, which is two years younger than previously advised. Along with that decrease in the age requirement for hormone treatments, the association has also moved to lower the minimum age for some gender reassignment surgeries to between 15 or 17.”

If that is the case it is likely that Toby is still working with the parts issued at birth. If so, then shouldn’t she/he/they/them be playing for the girls team? As unrealistic as Toby’s inclusion on the varsity football team was, especially as the running back chosen to try toting the ball over the goal-line for a championship game winning two-point conversion, it was possible as there is no girls football team at Milford or in the Valley Conference. However, as there is girls basketball at Milford shouldn’t that be the team Toby is required to play for until the deck has been fully rearranged?
