Asking for prayers here. Our cat, Peppercorn, has been missing since Christmas Eve. Normally he wakes us up to go in and out five times in a night, but this time he did not come home. Please pray that he finds his way back to us, safe and sound.
CeeCee is calming down. She ate her canned cat food sometime while I was at work yesterday. Before work, I got her to play a little with one of those toys that’s like a ribbon on a stick. After work, I opened the door to the crate wide open to see how she would react. She looked interested, but she stayed inside. I reached in to her and she sniffed my hand and didn’t hiss. Cassie walked into the crate and stepped in the litter box. CeeCee hissed at her, but didn’t pick a fight. CeeCee actually looks like she feels comfortable and content in the crate. Maybe in a few more days, I can leave the crate door open a little bit and give her the choice of coming out of staying in. It worked with Annie and her kittens. I have to admit, I was worried about the odds of calming CeeCee after she screamed and lunged at me when I first put her in the crate. But no, I feel confident she will settle down and be okay. I’d show a picture of her, but I’m so tired right now, I’m making typos every few words. So I’m off to bed now. Too sleepy to proofread. Pardon any errors.
I don’t get the part about grandpa not leaving her, what does that have to do with anything? That, “if only grandpa would leaver her and get his own place, then I could have cats”? That’s a terrible thought to have, so its not what I’d expect, but I don’t know ow how else to read it.
Wild day on the highway north of us yesterday. Snow, slush, freezing rain – and all the flatlanders coming up to ski Mammoth not heeding the warnings and smart enough to SLOW DOWN. At one point, the highway patrol literally threw up their arms and simply shut down the road into Mammoth, there were so many spin outs and speeders and cars without chains. One photo on FB showed a bulldozer pushing a big overturned SUV off to the side of the road! Zero sympathy for those idiots whose cars were damaged or destroyed while endangering others.
I picked up the fosters yesterday afternoon. After getting them settled with food, toys, etc. the two black ones went around growling. Not at anything or each other – just growling. They each had a toy in its mouth and kept growling.I waited a while to see if there was going to be any aggression and there was not. This morning, no growling. Everyone is playing, they ate, etc. My neighbor will be over soon to her hers. The rest are being picked up this evening, including mama cat.
I’m surprised Annie can even walk into the house without changing her clothes. My niece was deathly allergic to cats when she was a child, so when we went to visit my brother, every piece of clothing – including jackets, hats, etc. – had to be freshly laundered so we didn’t take ANY cat dander with us. After spending the afternoon at the warehouse, Annie must be covered in it!
OT . Had another covid booster this morning. Glad that’s out of the way. Flu shot was 2 weeks ago. Now I’ll stay home with the cats … praying that Peppercorn finds her/his way home to @UncleKenny.
Awwwww, that third panel really gets you. Who can say no to a sweet little kitty like Oliver, especially one that’s crying? On another note, saw seven golden crowned kinglets and a wren while out walking today.

NATIONAL SHORT FILM DAY
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE DAY

Get her some allergy pills. If that doesn’t work, there are shots that will. Anything for sweet Oliver!!!
