House Republicans are setting aside their phantom Hunter Biden crusades to focus on railroad workers and the related economic impact to our country. *

    Hahahahahahahaha.

There has never been a profitable railroad in the history of the USA. Never ever, including the first transcontinental RR. They have always been dependent on federal subsidies. Not under a democrat, nor a republican administration. So first lie. Second, while the GOP is busy trying to convince people we are in a recession, the FACTS -you remember facts don’t you? – indicate not. So second lie. That the republicans actually care about anything but themselves, well, third lie.

Tell me again how doing nothing but assigning blame to your opposition rather than solving the problem by collaborating with them to reach a consensus/compromise makes America stronger/more resilient.

Let’s see: 263000 jobs added in November, 3.7% unemployment rate, wages up, the largest “Black Friday” sales ever. And the claim is the US is “on fire”? I think not.

Lets see… Inflation is easing. Gas prices are decreasing. The economy just added 250,000 jobs. Consumers are consuming. Mr. Bidens efforts to rally the world against Russian aggression has worked to keep Ukraine from becoming another Russian puppet.

But Varvel wants you to believe that Biden has failed.

Let me get this straight: Railroads offerred a contract to unions with significant concessions, but no paid sick leave, saying that workers can used paid vacation days instead. Workers say that sick leave is unplanned, but vacation days have to be scheduled ahead of time.

Seems to me that a compromise could be to take away some concessions and add paid sick leave. Unfortunately, compromise is something that today’s Americans seem to have forgotten about as an option.

A rail strike could cripple our economy in a short time. Congress may have the power to require that the contract be ratified, but that guarantees that the power struggle between the unions and the railroads is far from over, and will fester over time.

Dems did try to insert paid sick leave. Republicans would not vote for that provision, so it died.

So, to summarize the cartoon, the railroads and the unions can’t agree. Congress voted to force the unions to take the contract. And so, obviously, Mr. Biden is a failure. Thanks, Mr. Varvel. Good to know that disconnection from reality does not impinge your ability to earn a living.

Stock market bouncing back. Gas prices dropping. Inflation easing. Housing prices steadying. All after guiding this country through its most devastating health crisis in a century.

I’m not sure what parallel universe this cartoon depicts.

The deficit is down, unemployment is down, the price of insulin is down (despite the right voting against all those things) so exactly how are things so bad as America to represented by a burning van? Maybe maniac conservatives would prefer to keep violently attacking their own capital? THAT is your idea of a healthy America? We are so sick of right wing LIES!
