Hallmark Christmas specials. If you’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all.

There were a fair share of old silly ones but they were all overshadowed by those great ones: Wonderful Life, The Grinch, Charlie Brown, and Christmas Story.

I have kept A Christmas Story on the DVR for six years now. Watch it every season hoping he won’t shoot his eye out.

Prior to the DVR I had recorded and copied it to a DVD which I still have…somewhere.

And after Christmas, the next big special TV event was in February when CBS aired the Wizard of Oz

Christmas Vacation is my favorite holiday movie. SQUIRREL!!!

1. A Charlie Brown Christmas

2. How the Grinch Stole Christmas (Original, unabridged)

3. Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer.

All the rest are take-it or leave-it.

I don’t watch them. I have to live in ice and snow, I’m not entertained by it. Give me a summer love movie any day.

Blackadder’s Christmas Carol is the only christmas special I need.

The limited availability made it a more valuable event. I remember watching the first broadcast of “A Charlie Brown Christmas.” That was it till the next year . .

My wife of 46 years and I still enjoy watching the Charlie Brown holiday specials, the Mickey Christmas offerings and A Christmas Carol starring Alastair Sims and It’s A Wonderful Life with Jimmy Stewart, Donna Reed and Lionel Barrymore.

I suppose in some ways, we are still kids at heart…

Yeah, Hallmark has gone too politically correct for me. I want to be entertained, not indoctrinated.

The musical, Amal and the Night Visitors. When I was a child the whole family watched this at Xmas time, even sang along and participated saying the lyrics parts. Every Xmas long long ago.

I remember when I was a kid. For a can of food you’d get a movie and a short. They would show Snow White and the Three Stooges. The short was an Our Gang short where the kids put on a floor show. The girls never showed for the dance number and the boys had to dress like women with bussles. Spanky told the boys to do what ever he did. The monkey was in Spanky’s bussle and stuck him with a pin. He would jerk upright and then started to strip. All the boys did the same…

I got the box set of the three Peanuts xmas specials. Haven’t watched on since.

We certainly did look forward to Rudolph & Frosty coming on T.V. every year!

I like watching the different versions of " A Christmas Carol". From the olden day ones to the modern versions of life today. Classic!

Pluto tv for a limited time has a whole channel to watch all kinds of Xma’s specials and there is the Hallmark channel too.

I haven’t even seen one. Haven’t watched TV since 1972, except when visiting someone who has their TV on. Then I’m at their mercy as to what I see.

Arlo, you are so right! Fortunately, Apple TV+ is at least showing the Peanuts specials at the proper time.
