One day Mr. Varvel might actually read up on the issues and causes behind them and draw something resembling the truth but I’m not counting on it. In the meantime, he keeps blowing that dog whistle and throwing meat to his admirers.

Ask yourself, what has the GOP ever done for you and your family?

Tax cuts? Great! You got another $23.17 to bring home a month, and people like trump and Elon got millions.

Cut regulations? Great, Exon Mobil is making billions and still raising your gas prices because they can.

Healthcare? They try to get rid of Medicare, raise drug prices, raise the eligibility for Medicaid and are trying to gut Obama care.

Women’s rights? They have taken away women’s rights over their own bodies.

The GOP does not help people; they make you afraid and then takes away your rights.

Desertification of large parts of the earth. Famine, plagues, wars over dwindling resources. So what if 75% of the human race dies. The rich will survive.

Think empty shelves were a problem during Covid – wait a few months. Stock up now. It’s gonna get much much worse. Just maybe an armed IRS agent may come to audit your food supply.

I do not believe we will end fossil fuel in my lifetime. As long as the Oil Barons can buy a barrel cheaper from OPEC than they can pump it, the Nation will continue to be dependent on foreign oil as we have for decades. Ir might be nice to find renewable sources for cars, but realistically, gas works, and will continue to work and the Oil Barons will make massive profit on it.

Kind of dumb to kill fossil fuels before wind and solar are really viable and the electrical grid can’t handle anywhere near the power requirements…. Ya think?

Republican propagandists like like Mr. Varvel know that most of their fans do not understand economics or the oil business. The President of the United States has very little say over oil production. Oil production is driven by market forces. Oil companies are private businesses. They raise or lower production based on realizing profit.

The president has few mechanisms that he could use to directly control oil production. He could use the Defense Production Act to force more production, but I doubt the oil companies would want that. Increasing oil production would decrease their profits. Other than that there is not much he can do.

Let’s see, don’t railroad locomotives run on diesel too? And isn’t railroad the most efficient cargo transport method by far? Stop me if I’m hurting your heads, Democrats.

Fossil fuel is the end of us. All 8 billion and growing by more than 221,000 per day of us consuming and consuming and consuming are making the planet unlivable for most living creatures. That consumption is fueled by fossil carbon fuel. We have changed nature and the climate to the point where nature will do to us as it has done in the past and that is to wipe us out (actually we’re wiping ourselves out). We were warned in the 1950s of the population bomb. That warning was unheeded and people just kept on having more and more babies. Now that bomb has exploded and the results are obvious to those not living in a cloud of reality denial! We’re well past sustainability by over 6 billion people. We can make the end of civilization happen faster by voting republican this Nov 8. The republicans had a pretty good try at being uncivilized on Jan 6, 2021. Now voters can decide if they want a whole lot more of that.

    Bidenaries:

    “Shut down that pipeline!”

    “Shut down those refineries!”

“We are going to end fossil fuels!”

“High gas prices? Not my problem jack.”

(Some paraphrasing involved to shorten government speak into common tongue.)

Truth of the matter is that fossil fuel is going to end no matter WHO is in charge. It’s insane to think you can keep pumping indefinitely from a non-renewed resource. The best outcome is to help people and businesses move to more sustainable techniques. The GOP’s preference is to maximize short term profit to the well owners and then die before the bill comes due (I guess).

If Joe had a lick of sense he would send a bill to congress to motivate a half dozen small refineries to be built. It would help our current energy needs while being quick to build if Joey is smart enough to get different companies to build them. Oh look what I am saying. In the last two years the U.S. closed five.

President Joe Biden told a climate activist on Sunday he would not allow any new drilling in the United States, just days after he complained that oil companies are not drilling enough.

“No more drilling. There is no more drilling,” Biden said, speaking to a climate activist as he finished up a rally in New York for Gov. Kathy Hochul (D-NY). “I haven’t formed any new drilling.”

A young woman standing front and center held up a sign protesting Biden for allowing drilling on federal lands.
