The good thing, I’ve been on the fence whether I should get a Twitter account, pretty easy to decide not to now.

Already there has been a significant increase in anti-semitic, anti-LGBTQ, let’s-start-a-revolution, and anti-minority posts. One may wonder whether it’s just people testing the waters to see what the moderators (assumed to be different people or operating under different instructions) will let them get away with. The answer will determine Twitter’s fate, and all indications so far point to this behavior being allowed.

If this indeed occurs, one may think that it will end up like Facebook these days, where many people will acknowledge the harm that it does, but still use it because they like seeing pictures of their friend’s dessert, but I don’t see it that way. I believe more people will leave Twitter, because a lot of rich/famous/influential people who have lots of followers will leave to avoid having their reputations soiled by what Twitter will become. When the floodgates are open, and haters and those who threaten are given free reign, the good people will leave, and Twitter will become another Gab or 4chan.

I see that all the trolls are running around here celebrating. I’d like to remind them that every RWNJ-social media site has failed spectacularly so far because Republicans have become nothing but trolls, and trolls have to have targets to harass, bait, and attack which can’t happen when all of us sane people stay away. I hope Twitter goes the same way as every other site like Parler or Fake Truth Social.
