Our cat goes for the furniture. That forces us to react. Our own hide heals.

This exact scenario played out at our house yesterday when the cat wouldn’t let Hubby ignore him. Kitty knows better than to nip me.

A knee-jerk reaction would launch Muffin across the room. Lesson learned.

I have always been indifferent to cats until I got Romeo. He rarely makes a sound, only if I continue to ignore him. When he wants to go out, he just taps me on the arm and goes to sit by the door. Romeo has scratched me on occasion, but has never broken my skin when he bites. When I go to bed, he curls up next to my chest for a while then moves down behind my knees. He gets along great with my three dogs. Love him with all my heart. PS. When I leave the house I always give my dogs a treat and Romeo sits patiently waiting on his.

why is the cat biting instead scratching? Is he hanging around the dog again?

Ours would jump on our lap. Sometimes I go to a small room we called my book room with computer, when I sit in smaller chair the cat would jump up and stay there, I be reading.

I’ve had a few cats who would use their claws to pull my hand towards them for pets. They did it fairly gently.
