I’m so TIRED of “the big lie” technique. I’d almost welcome something more persuasive. Or interesting. Or just different.

According to Captain Varvel, Biden is going around forcing people to take drugs, making the oil companies make obscene profits and, among other things, is a prtner in crime syndicates like the Trump Org.

Varvel employs the Ramirez technique of throwing out a lot of half-baked RW tropes, hoping something will stick.

“Oh, it’s focused,” laughed Biden. He then went on an incoherent tangent that perfectly disproved the point he was trying to make.

Let’s look at Varvel’s whines one at a time:

WOKE: How is becoming more aware an issue for anyone?

TAXES: OH NO! The uber rich might have to pay some? Only a Republican would be alarmed at that.

GAS PRICES: Up all over the world but sure – blame Biden.

CRIME: Ebbs and flows. Nobody likes it but how would a Republican President change that?

OPEN BORDER: It’s not open but it could be handled a lot better. Point-Varvel.

FENTANYL DEATHS: Just the latest drug problem. Before that it was crack or heroin. Maybe Nancy Reagan’s ghost should do another “JUST SAY NO” program. That was so effective…

ABORTION: Seriously Varvel? Trump’s S.C. created this issue. Minus 2 Points – Varvel.

STUDENT LOAN FORGIVENESS: This has been blown out of proportion by the GOP if my understanding that it’s limited to $10K is correct. Anyway, it doesn’t address the real problem of the ridiculous cost of a higher education so Varvel has half a point.

SPENDING: The age old problem Republican’s have with improving the lives of anyone but the wealthy.

INFLATION: Like Gas Prices, it’s up all over the world but sure – blame Biden. The Fed is trying to walk the fine line of getting it under control while avoiding a Recession. Republicans like Varvel should just be happy that the wealthy don’t care.

What’s the big lie?

If one can’t understand or see the truth, then “everything” seems to be a lie!

Trump is setting up for a run in 2024. Of course, that seems deranged at the current time. But since we didn’t have sunshine and lollipops on January 21st, the media started picking at Biden’s administration. Mistakes were made, and they will highlight them instead of the good being done— because they get better ratings. And, frankly, because we need to know about those mistakes.

Trump’s plague didn’t magically disappear when Biden took office. It was out of control.. The way to make a plague disappear is to never let it get out of control in the first place. Trump cut the team that Obama set up to do that out of the 2018 budget.

We also have a financial mess crated by Trump’s failure to manage the pandemic, or even make a legitimate effort to do so. This is going to take years and a massive effort to correct. We were lucky to avoid another great depression, and the economy is going to be messed up for much longer.

The Republicans have created messes every time they have had the White House in my memory, which means that we can’t make any progress because the entire Democratic administration has to be dedicated to repairing the damage. Since we will still be digging out of the mess the Republicans left in 2024, there is a good chance that people will be stupid enough to put them back in the White House, so they can create more mess for the next Democrat to get stuck with.

GOP + Qanoners + trumpers = Boring! Same old, same old.

Inflation – Worldwide, and America is about average for how well it is being managed

Spending – No worse than previous governments

Student Loan Forgiveness – Not a bad idea, and will help the economy overall

Abortion – Yes, the fact that the anti-abortionists are increasing in influence is a train wreck

Crime – It is on the rise. Not as bad as it was in the 90’s, but it is certainly something that needs to be addressed. BUT it isn’t a federal issue, it is a local issue.

Open Border – A myth. It does not exist. There is not an open border, and Biden doesn’t support such a concept.

Gas prices – Are up worldwide, this is not an America issue

Fentanyl deaths – Something that needs to be addressed for sure

Taxes – Not that different than before… not sure how this would be a train wreck

Woke – I’m further on the left than most on these boards, and I also have a problem with “woke” culture. It has become way too dogmatic.
