Tax dollars? What about the lives of people, crops, and destruction? If it were up to GOP, we wouldn’t have anything in defense of the climate changes that have been already, destroying lives and homes. Wake up idiots! Until it happens to them they couldn’t care less.
It’s not Uncle Sam who collects property taxes, Marty, but the individual states and even some “lesser” localities. Harder to portray, though, I admit. And pretty universal across the US.
In fact, the federal government has been responsible for subsidizing flood insurance in flood-risky areas, but has historically paid out only to rebuild on the same location where the damage occurred, not to move to a less risky location.

Thanks to the reckless mismanagement of global corporations, Marty will finally have some beachfront property in South Dakota.

You can find maps showing probable flooding patterns as the sea level gets higher.

Read Kim Robinson. “New York 2140” and “2312” both discuss a life in a submerged NYC.

Not climate change, just natural erosion. Anyway, by then I’ll have some ocean front property in Arizona.
