In the US, Democrats are Center Right and Republicans are Far Right, and MAGAts are so far Right, they’re out of sight.

As a Democrat, thanks to the god Reagan, I say Democrats have moved too far to the corporate extreme and too many still can’t figure out why the working class left. Harry Truman would be quite mad. FDR would wonder whether he could save capitalism from the crony capitalists, and JFK and LBJ would wonder why the party has moved so far to the right after losing the South.

My Democrats have their fair share of wacko politicos, but at least so far the inmates haven’t taken over the asylum.

The problem is there is no middle anymore.

In the middle were the consensus and common goals that made our nation strong and allowed all to share the rewards of our productivity. The politically ambitious found that dividing the nation was far less effort and as simple as falsely casting their opponents as evil and saying “no” to everything rather than doing the hard honest work of discussion, debate, and compromise.

The Republicans are so extreme that the political center has become extreme to them.

I keep wishing that the moderates in both parties would stand up to their extremist party members. Neither extreme is good for this country.

Mitch McConnell has good reasons to be depressed about his odds of reclaiming the Senate: analyst

    https://www.rawstory.com/mitch-mcconnell-2657891636/

“Like all of Matt Gaetz’s donors, my dad trusted him to use that money to further conservative ideals,” Lombardo wrote. “Had my father known that Gaetz would use his money to pay pedophile Jeffrey Epstein’s attorney, he would have never given him a penny.”

“Gaetz broke my dad’s, and thousands of other donors’ trust when he used their money to pay the attorney most known for defending the world’s worst child-sex trafficker,” he wrote. "To think that money my dad earned as a decorated combat veteran on the field of battle went to Gaetz’s sex-trafficking defense infuriates me and my family.

“In addition, knowing Gaetz raises money from elderly and working-class people under the deception of making America great and then uses that money for defending himself against charges that have nothing to do with his work in Congress or campaign, is shameful. It’s a total betrayal of trust.”
