Raw egg in it? How many of us licked the batter of cakes and brownies ? (And I still do…and I’m 65). Oh, and we drank from the garden hose, too. And lived to tell. Boomers were made of heartier stuff than kids today. LOL

Besides the (possibly overblown) threat of “raw eggs”, there is just as much (if not more) danger in eating raw flour. A spoonful is probably insignificant, but larger amounts are definitely a bad idea. There are commercial “cookie dough” products that can be eaten raw or baked, but these have been pasteurized for safety, just like milk.

Those of us born in the 1930’s – 40’s probably ingested more ‘bad’ foods or experienced more ‘bad’ stuff outdoors than is even available these days but we got through it. Doesn’t seem the same for present days, where the desire for safety in all things appears to be the rule.

I’ll wait for the baked brownies, and I’ve got dibs on the corners.

Raw eggs, fresh UNPASTEURIZED WHOLE milk. Never thought twice about it. Oh and let’s not start about having to be “nut free!”

I am pretty sure that I had been exposed to every pathogen known to man by the time I was 12. Between that and a shot record that weighs about 10 pounds, I’m immune to just about anything.

As did I. We also played on banned playground equipment, rode our bikes without wearing brain buckets and a lot of so called dangerous things!

I still remember back in the late 50s, early 60s, my mother used to make milkshakes for us in hot weather using ice cream, milk and a raw egg on vey hat days.
